So NP  Beatles:  Abbey Road

Man, this album is total brilliance  *horns*

Aint that so, Funky ?

Nicky.

Thanks, listened to it. Well noticed, nothing wrong with your ears ;). The fact that I didn't mention it before proves that I don't find it that disturbring here .... or there's something wrong with MY ears ;D.

Quote from: PH on Wed, 2012-04-11, 23:33:05
Well... don't know if it classifies as a real growl. More like a grunt perhaps. ;)
Oooh, watch out for Nicky :).

Quote from: PH on Wed, 2012-04-11, 23:33:05
Anyway, it's one of those death metal thingies, which normally won't be found on a Neal Morse album indeed.
Wouldn't have expected it from Neal. But okay, we'll forgive him  ;).

therefore np: Neal Morse - Testimony Two; disc two

Track 2: Supernatural

before: The Reasoning - Acoustically Speaking
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'
-------------------------------------------------------
Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

PH

I think it suits that particular bit. It's indeed a bit of a 'hidden' growl/grunt/snore, since it's mixed behind Neal's clean vocal.
Still... who is it??!!

Bupie

PP Seventh Wonder : Mercy Falls Peter made me think of this one.

NP Pendragon : The Masquerade Overture I am listening to it on headphones and enjoying it much more than I ever did, which is cool  8)

Oooh, watch out for Nicky :).

You guys got some fetish, man  ::)

;D

Here's a group that's completely ungrowly, ungrunted, and all that, in fact they mainly sing in the higher registers (very proficiently), and even so they'r more difficult to get into than most any growly group I know. So how dya like those apples, guys ?

NP  Anubis Gate:  Self-titled (latest album)

I now regard this group as one of the most genre-defining prog groups around, simply mind-boggling  *horns*

All their five albums are very different, and all have been groundbreaking, musically and lyrically - this is some monster prog band  8)

I'm happy that Lance King now has taken them under his wings  :)

Funky, Mad, Iggy, Tom, Bupie, maybe even Paxi and Greenie  ;)

Nicky.

PP Pendragon - The Window Of Life

NP Kansas - Somewhere To Elsewhere A very valuable last effort to celebrate the new century ...

Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

NP  Vangough:  Manikin Parade

Great album, very expressive and melodic, occasionally quite heavy  *horns*

Related groups: PoS, Yes, PT, Flower Kings  8)

Happy to share this great music with you, Funky  8)

You can easily get Andromeda and Detached too  ;)

I'v ordered AG's first two albums, Purification (2004) and A Perfect Forever (2005), as they'r becoming collector's items. From the samples I'v heard, they'r fine too  :)

NP  The Shadow Theory:  Behind The Black Veil

Another great album  *horns*

Recommended to the same crowd, Teunis and Cap too  ;)

Related groups: Threshold (TST has Johanne on drums), Deadsoul Tribe (Devon is mainman in both), Arena  :)

No, I actually meant my recom, Teunis. The thing is that this is a very varied album. The pieces one finds currently on YouTube reflect the heavy and harsh part of the album. Try instead   www.the-shadow-theory.com   click music, and click nb 3, Ghostride, a very atmospheric song, and afterward you get the beginning of the wonderful Welcome. This site will give you a better impression of the album  :)

Second run. It doesnt (yet) grip me the way that e.g. Behind The Black Veil and Andromeda Unchained do, but I know that the SG albums are real growers .....  8)
