Arena - "Contagion"

Still trying to write that review...
It's difficult because it's so good! ;D Besides, I am also listening to Arena's latest album.

Knight Area - Nine Paths  8)
Pendragon - Passion

Really enjoying the latter one right now. Hadn't played it for a few months, didn't seem to click. Now it does  *horns*.

JP: Devin Townsend Project: Addicted

NP: Devin Townsend Project: Ghost

I'm still very fond of DT (not THE DT).  Possibly I'm in the minority there.  I just "get" him for some reason.

recently played: The Pineapple Thief: Tightly Unwound

I'm actually getting to like this less, although some is still very good.   Seems a little weepy.

Sorry I've been absent lately.  I haven't listened to too much music lately.  I'll definitely get the new Arena album, which is, naturally, not coming out over here for another month.  As PH noted, I only came out for birthday wishes a couple of times lately.  The reason for that is that I consider you folks to be my friends even if I'm not in a music-listening mode.  I do intend to continue my explorations into music, but I think people matter even if that's not going on.

Fond Regards,

Manatee

I found it majestic already on first listen, and it's only getting better with every run presently, but I seem to be heavier than you guys, excepting Funky who's just as much of a metal wreck as me

Tom, I don't understand why you say that there aint any ballads on Iconoclast. When All Is Lost is a beautiful ballad, gets a bit heavy along the way, but is a ballad nonetheless to my mind  ;)

How are you doin with Protest the Hero now, Iggy ?

Just met the guy at my work. He was buying some IKEA furniture. ;)

The Butterfly Man

NP: Marillion - Holidays In Eden - Live at the Marillion Weekend 2011

Great to relive the magic atmosphere that surrounded the Weekend in Port Zélande in March. 8)

I bought it last monday at the gig in Paradiso, Amsterdam (my fourth time seeing Marillion this year alone!) which was nothing short of fabulous. The band was on fire and played an awesome set:

1. Splintering Heart
2. Cover My Eyes
3. King
4. Asylum Satellite #1
5. Sugar Mice
6. Cannibal Surf Babe
7. Somewhere Else
8. You're Gone
9. Afraid Of Sunlight
10. Man Of A Thousand Faces
11. Fantastic Place
12. The Great Escape
13. Between You And Me
14. Neverland

15. The Invisible Man

16. Three Minute Boy

It was the first time my girlfriend went along to a Marillion concert and she loved it. We stood near the front center-stage and it was great seeing her enjoy the show and in particular Steve Hogarth's performance. The man is such a great storyteller.

Afterwards we went to an Irish Pub where we the clock was quickly approaching midnight. Then we celebrated my birthday in style, with booze! ;D

I truly had a wonderful day, loved every single moment of it. And that's what it's all about, isn't it? :)

Looking at the cover of this one, I think I know where Hugh Syme got his inspiration for Immortal ?  :)
