You really are very picky, Cap, aint ya ?

I think that I have an entirely different attitude toward music, more encompassing  ;)

Iac I can recommend Going For The One as my fave Yes album  *horns*

I know, one should pay the artists. On Monday, I start at my new job as practical helper at Experimentariet in Copenhagen, so I hope to soon have some finances to buy cd's.

Meanwhile I wish you guys a Happy New Year  :)

Erm.

Mad wrote that it's one of the very few Yes albums he likes, not me .... I must say that I've probably listened to too few Yes albums to have a real opinion. This particular album is special to me because it was one of those from my age 15-20 era that influenced me the most, along with Marillion, the New Romantic stuff, the Klaus Schulze/Tangerine Dream stuff and so. It's one of my "life theories" that the music you listen to during that period will always influence you the most.

Anyways: yes, Nicky, I am picky. My time is too precious(ssssss) to spend it on stuff that I don't like. And all the music that I do like now, has somehow clicked with me on the first or at least the second spin. If I were a brain scientist, the music that does appeal to me surely has some sort of pattern, if I would analyse it.
Arriving somewhere, but not here....

Manatee

Phideaux - Doomsday Afternoon

Happy New Year, everyone!
"What is that sound?  It's confusing, and boy is it loud!"

That seems to go less for me than for you, Cap:

When I hear e.g. Floyd's Echoes or Bowie's Diamond Dogs these days, it does give me the tingles. However, after a long hiatus from rock up to 2002, I experienced that there was a lotta great novel music that had emerged during my hiatus, e.g. Arena and DT.

My nature is to be at the cutting edge of things (not only music), and after some adaption to growl and other "extreme" stuff, KoK and Radiance, who now are at the cutting edge of rock, just like Floyd and Bowie were 30-40 years ago, give me just as much tingles  *horns*

Ah that takes me back. I love Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth.

Having started at the beginning I am now up to Tales which is still in my top 10 after 35 years.

Guess I'l have to go down to the cd-store and get it soon, as they don't have any SW at Cop Main Lib.

BTW it's goin well with the new job at Experimentarium in Cop. Mainly cleaning, maintenance, and surveillance initially, which is maybe not so exciting, but it's OK. Nice bosses, colleagues, and an active but not stressed pace, and opportunities to get to know people  :)

Havent identified any proggies or metalheads yet  ;)
