Odd, all my Yes is on vinyl, but I have this.  Maybe Amazon Marketpace has a cheap copy of Going for the One.  Always found that one uplifting.

I guess CD's were taking over around this time. The Expanded edition has quite a few 'extra' tracks including a young version of Awaken and it certainly isn't expensive over here. (about 10 dollars equivalent)

Same here, and ordered.   :)   I'm afraid I'm going on a binge again, which I can't really afford right now.  I'm thinking that I may be forced to buy Doomsday Afternoon by Phideaux.  Listening to the samples now, and it sounds impressive.

NP: Steve Hackett - Genesis Revisited

As I said recently, anything that begins with "Watcher of the Skies" is worth owning by definition.   I haven't heard a version I didn't love yet.  Killer drums on this one.   *horns*

I notice one of the artists credited on this album is "John Weeton."  At least it's not that guy from Asia.   ;D

Seems the conversation has inspired an investigation of all things Steve Hackett by Mr. Steve Hackett-Jones.

Ack, ok, as long as I'm going to debtor's prison anyway, tell me of these Knight Area guys.  Apparently you gents (don't recall a lady mentioning them, apologies if any did) are quite fond of them, but I know nothing.

So you recommend an English punt on them, eh?  In my present mood, I might just do that, depending upon price and availability -- I would long since have taken an English punt on the latest Pendragon on the strength of pretty much the whole Room raving about it, but it's bloody hard to find here and costs as least double the normal price for a CD the few places it can be found.  I even checked Mr. Hackett-Jones's favoured (note the "u" since it's in the UK) vendor, where I procured my live Magenta, but the price is very high there too.  It isn't a quadruple album, is it?

Back from my errands, during which I played the end of Abigail's Ghost - Selling Insincerity and the beginning of Martin Orford - The Old Road.  Now back home finishing up Steve "No Jones" Hackett - Genesis Revisited.  Methinks I'll be getting the other Abigail's Ghost soon.   *horns*  And probably a regular Hackett CD or three.    *horns* *horns*

NP> Everon ~ Fantasma

I know that you'r a man of few words, Mad, but could you anyway try to describe Everon so that we can get a good impression of'm ?

The amazon reviews are raving, and they compare Everon with H-Marillion, Rush, and Queensrÿche.

Who in the Room do you think would go for'm ?

Nicky.

Everon is very well-played and produced melodic neo-prog with a heavy edge to it. I have their excellent second album Flood, they seem to have progressed with further albums I haven't ventured into. The vocals have a german accent that may be a bother. Not sure it's your cup of tea, Nicky, I'd say Bupie maybe?

NP Marillion - Less Is More (the Racket download that comes with ordering the real thing and has been shipped now, Marillion kindly provide you with the download to ease the wait for it to arrive). Sounds pretty good so far and very well suited for this stormy and rainy autumn day.

I rather like Elis too.  Heard them a lot in my black/symphonic metal explorations on Pandora.

Yes, I heard a good bit of Edenbridge during the same period.  They got the thumbs up too.   *horns*   I could potentially pick up a few albums from these folks and a few others.  At the time, I was hearing so much of them that Pandora plays were enough.  Lacuna Coil's the only band from that grouping that I actually bought CDs by so far, but I don't really think of LC as being the same style of music even though they're often categorized together with symphonic metal for some reason.

NP: Devin Townsend Project - Ki

I've grown to love this one.  Interesting that it's arguably his "sanest" recording (sane being a relative term when applied to Devy) when it immediately followed his weirdest recording, Ziltoid the Omniscient, an album I play when I'm not in the mood for Earth.
