Probably to early to tell. I really like Mercy Falls and it may well stay my favourite just for being the first CD of theirs that I heard.

Whilst I'm not unhappy with the value-for-money aspect of my digipak extravaganza, I did notice the actual music was a little on the short side.  And I'm trying not to be distracted by 70 minutes of suck.. ;)

Considering the possible responses to that in the Room, I'll count that mild comment as a win.   ;D

NP: Riverside - ADHD

I felt left out.

I'll answer this for Tom if he don't mind:

Yes, it is.

I was at the Rotterdam gig but that one hasn't been recorded.
Good show by the way.
I have it too.  *horns* *horns* *horns*

Sorry but I know you weren't at the Rotterdam gig, simply because there was none that tour. Therefore, I think you mean the Amsterdam-gig, don't you? ;)

I remember after the intermission the second set (the cover album) started with some soundclips from legendary prog-albums to tease the crowd that was dying in anticipation, and they went wild with every sample. Then the band kicked in with Dark Side Of The Moon. Amazing, great memories... :)

I was at the Apollo so if you listen very carefully you can hear me clapping.  ;D

Still playing Sieges Even as I have had a continual stream of colleagues at my desk who prefer me to take my headphones off when I am talking to them.

Played:
Mercenary:  11 Dreams (2004)  &  The Hours That Remain (2006)  &  Architect Of Lies (2008)   *horns*

I'm so happy that I'v found some Danish groups that excite me:  Mercenary, The Arcane Order, Mnemic, Wuthering Heights  8)

All three above-mentioned albums are great. There isnt much difference between'm - after 3-4 runs I still can't really formulate any - but it doesnt matter, cause they'v found a very special and exciting sound.

Ok, I'l admit, as Jonesy wrote earlier, they bit to often approach the saloon metal sound of Nightwish, but they are always more edgy and biting. At the heavier end, they can approach Nevermore. So that should indicate their spectrum.

And lead guitarist Martin Buus is up there with the best !

The only beef I have is the usual one with non-English groups:  The jarring accents, that e.g. make "music" sound like mew-sick  :-\

I'd happily tighten up the English of rock singers (for several reasons)  ;)

But there really isnt that much metal in the Room  ???

Somehow DT have been inducted without much ado, but it sure is laborious with all other good metal groups  :-\

So there is some progression  ;D *horns*

OK, SE have also been well received here  :)

NP: Opeth - Damnation

Pretty quiet in here tonight. But that's no big deal, since I'm about to leave as well.  I hope the Americans keep an eye on the Room while us Europeans are getting drunk on this beautiful fridaynight... ;D

I've already had anesthesia and a black and tan, so you've got some catching up to do.

NP: Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet

It seemed appropriate.   ;D
