NP  Dream Theater:  Systematic Chaos

What a terrific album, music of the highest order, so much melody, so many wonderful details  *horns*

I simply can't understand people who hang onto W&I, except that they probably havent followed DT in their amazing progression. Every single DT album from W&I on has been groundbreaking  8)

Are you sure about W&I? Or did you mean I&W, since the album's called Images & Words?

Smartass-mode off! :P

W&I  ???  ;D I knew that you give a lot of attention to words but not to the point of inversing album titles  ;D

On topic, I like SC very much but I don't see what song of this album could have made it on I&W. Maybe ITPOE PtI or TMOLS could have replaced Under A Glass Moon ? The real problem is that everything that DT produces now has a feeling of déjà vu but at this point of their career that seems unavoidable  :(  When they tried to innovate on SC, that gave some nu-metal (Forsaken) or thrash (TDEN) that moderately convinced me.

NP Megadeth - United Abominations

Don't worry Nicky, I won't pretend that this one is better than SC  :)

Played through Frequency once.  I didn't find the sound quality as bad as Steve did, but it does sound perhaps a trifle muted throughout.  It's not noticeable enough to spoil my enjoyment of the music though.

NP: Mastodon - Crack the Skye

This one was a bit of a leap of faith on my part since I've only heard the few sample songs they have available online.  To be honest, the really cool artwork may have helped sell it to me a bit.  Let's see how it goes.

Incidentally, I have been playing it as well a few times this week, I really like this album! Especially TMOLS, ITPOE and Forsaken. The only track I'm still struggling with is TDEN :-\
Really looking forward to Black Clouds & Silver Linings, I'm not a DT completist so I've got the standard version on pre-order @ CDWow for a mere € 9,99 8) Can't wait to hear it!

I actually have been listening to the complete DT back catalogue chronologically the past weeks (ToT and Octavarium still to go, jumped to SC because I just really wanted to hear it :P) and it sure is an amazing line of albums. I&W was of course also groundbreaking when it was released, but they just got so much better. And as I explained before, I found I&W disappointing because I already had the much heavier and darker Awake and dislike the plastic drums on I&W. :-\
We stare at our screens

What a waste of eyes..

The thing is, with ITPOE, is that they never, i repeat never, which means NEVER should have cut the track into pieces.  >:(

Well, my opinion about that song is pretty obvious.  ;D
I do have an Uncut version, though.
Man, it rocks soo loud!!!!!  *horns* *horns* *horns*
