It might even take a little longer with you, as you seem less heavy than I.

If you're under 65 kilo's I'm heavier than you... ;D

But serious now, do you listen to Nile? There are moments (not many I have to admit) I can appreciate it. They are at least times as heavy as Scar Symmetry... ;) If you're interested, read more on them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nile_(band)

How many times, Tom ?  ;D

I recall that some roomie (you?) mentioned Nile earlier. I just read the Wiki article. Yeah, sounds interesting, I'l keep'm in mind. These days, Jonesy has taken over the cd-purchasing job, so all accounts are full and I have to wait  :D

No, truth is that I don't have any finances at the moment  :'(

Good call, Tom. Quite special, this combination of Jewish traditional music and heavy metal  *horns*

NP  Anathema:  Alternative 4  *horns*

Quoting Iggy again:  Hauntingly beautiful  :)

No doubt, they wouldnt have gotten here without Floyd, but still, they have carved out their own niche, they're by no means one of the many Floyd tribute bands.

Funny, there's quite some R.E.M.-mood over the track Feel. These guys are all over the place  *horns*

A mate of mine is really into them, but I couldn't stand them. He said I had to give them a chance, so on my birthday a couple of years ago he gave me a Nile-album...Now I listen to it once in a while and I'm able to actually enjoy it pretty much. I enjoy it most when I'm angry though, strange huh?... :D

But if you don't have the finances at the moment you can always visit their MySpace, it's free! ;)

I simply can't imagine you angry, Tom. What does it take ? - that someone mocks Master JP ?  :D

My guess is that you're like I was at your age:  I got sad and mute when people did stupid things  :( :-X :'(

Now I can actually freak out on people, altho it happens rarely - but it helps, makes people think again. Conjugal life has taught me dat  ;D ;)

Thanks for the link. I'l go there soon .....

NP  Still guess what

Looks like it's gonna be an Anathema day ... hey, yesterday was too ... and probably tomorrow too ..... OK, looks like it's gonna be an Anathema theme week  ;D

No, JP seems strong enough to deal with those situations himself... ;)

How do you know? Are you some kind of psychic? ;)

I'm indeed sad and quiet when I'm angry, but extreme/hard/heavy/brutal music really helps in those situations.

Fine characterisation of Anathema music, Iggy  *horns*

And what do you think of A Natural Disaster ?

Nicky

I like it. it is a bit dark Pink Floyd especially Pulled Under at 2000 Metres a Second.

I have ordered some more to see if they are all excellent.

Paxi, in terms of defining rock music, Beatles and Floyd are probably the two greatest bands eva  *horns*

Anyone wanna contest that ?  OK, but argue your case then  ;)

NP  Fear Factory:  Transgression

The latest by FF, from 2005.

It's seldom that there's a cd that catches my interest at the local library (10 km from Copenhagen city hall and main library), but as I had heard about Fear Factory and this album was released under Roadrunner (launched in the Netherlands in 1980 btw), I decided to give it a run.

Very energetic and excellent musicianship, but it seems to me on first listen like pretty regular metal with an industrial edge  :-\

Anyone into Fear Factory ?

Tom, I listened a lot to Frances and De-Loused 2-3 years ago. In fact, there were several months where I hardly listened to anything else. So I know those albums real well  *horns*

I even backtracked the guys to some of their earlier groups and got some of MV's ep's, live cd's, and demos. Talk about fanship  ::)

By the time Amputechture came out, I had spread out to a manifold of groups (like still today), and I never got properly into Amputechture and Bedlam.

But I'm real eager to get back to MV, so I'l be commenting their stuff soon .....

NP  Caamora She  Act 2  Scene 5   (on repeat)

The end of this epic is so touching that it brings tears to my eyes. Altho Ayesha (Agnieszka) has been a bitch, still she is Kallicrates' (Clive) twin soul.

"Finally we faced the Fire of Life. It burnt blue and cool in our presence. I stood back and watched as Ayesha coaxed Leo towards the flames. The promise of eternal life together was a powerful drug, and Leo stepped ever closer.

To demonstrate the power of the magic, the Queen entered and bathed in the fire.

Something, however, was very wrong. Before our very eyes, Ayesha began to age. Her body flailed and twisted in the flames and she dwindled and crumpled before us. She reached out pathetically towards the horrified Leo before falling lifeless to the ground. She, who must be obeyed, was dead."

Ayesha:

"Wait for me - I shall return again for you Kallicrates
More beautiful than ever I shall live again
To walk upon the earth and be your queen again
And nothing in the universe can conquer us
Death cannot destroy our love."

What a drama !!!
