Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

I dug this out (as I almost always do) after playing the most excellent Dream Theater cover of 'Funeral For a Friend' *horns*
Classic Elton, from his pre-"Nesting Tribble" days ;)

Betcha, Jonesy, this is a select album  *horns*

Also my fave Elton album. I actually like Elton's Funeral better than DT's, but the latter is cool too  8)

Captain Fantastic is my second fave Elton album, Caribou third  *horns*

... female reproductive organs ...

Typical, guys in their puberty are completely enmeshed in this stuff  :P

NP  Scar Symmetry:  Pitch Black Progress

So it ended up being this one for my culinary exercises yesterday evening, and today for my dishwashing.

Also a select album  *horns*

This is truly one for repeated listening, so much going on, lots of melody, great riffs and solos, innovation and growl.

Tom  ;)

You know those 'Tribbles' from Star Trek?  Well Sir Elton seems to have one nesting on his head these days.

You know those 'Tribbles' from Star Trek ?

No, I don't watch TV-series. The last one I watched was Twin Peaks, but it's also in a class for itself  *horns*

The only thing I know about Star Trek is that there's a group of dudes flyin about in outer space  ::)

So you gotta help me out here  ???

NP  Nigel Kennedy and the Kroke Band:  East Meets West

Great album  *horns*

It's the only klezmer album I have, but it's also some of the best klezmer I'v ever heard.

Nigel Kennedy is married (for the second time) to Polish Agnieszka (hm, where have I heard that name before  ;) ), and they live in Kraków. "Kroke" is Kraków in Yiddish (so guess where they're based), and the band plays klezmer.

If you want one excellent klezmer album, this is the one to get  ;)

Yes, Tom, I'd say so in your case. I'm fascinated and gripped by Holographic Universe, but still it's a bit beyond me, as it's so heavy, growly and grating. Otoh PBP goes in like a good Belgian beer nowadays. It might even take a little longer with you, as you seem less heavy than I.

HU might well be the most difficult album I have  :-\  *horns*
