EDIT: Well, what shall I put in my CD-player now? Any recommendations? :D

Heck, I'd recommend something calm after all this metal mania :)

Go for Talk Talk's "Colour of Spring" album, if you will. Very relaxing, great musicianship.
Arriving somewhere, but not here....

I fully agree with that, Peter.  ;D

Quote from: Nicky007 on Fri, 2008-02-08, 18:00:48Have you fallen in love with a picture, Paco ?  Remember, photos always lie, particularly with women  :D
:D I think she's too old for me! ;) Besides, I already have a very nice good-looking, adorable girlfriend! And I'm too much in love with my girlfriend to have a cyber-relationship with Bluey. No hard feelings Bluey! And you do look good in that picture! ;) But what I was joking about was that I referred to her as a "bunch of good guys". But you didn't get the joke... Ah well, maybe next time. ;D

Quote from: Nicky007 on Fri, 2008-02-08, 18:00:48That's maybe going a bit tooo far, kiddo  :D
You think so? Well, I know that it's hard sometimes... As a progger it's really hard not to look down on someone who's listening to rap, eh?

Quote from: Nicky007 on Fri, 2008-02-08, 18:00:48Yeah, Paxi, long time since you've played Awake. Give it a spin, huh ?  Man, what an album  *horns*
Great idea man! Will do!

You know, Paxi, in modern slang, "guys" refers to all humans, no matter what sort of bulges they have  ;)

NP  Master Of Puppets  (on repeat)

I'm really impressed  *horns*

This is entirely merited (Wiki, my boldface):

"Metallica's third studio album, Master of Puppets, was recorded at Sweet Silence Studios [in Copenhagen, guys] and was released in March 1986. The album peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200, and spent 72 weeks on the chart. The album was the band's first to be certified gold on November 4, 1986, and was certified six times platinum in 2003.[3] Some critics, including Steve Huey of All Music Guide, consider the album to be the 'greatest heavy metal album of all time', and earned Metallica the title of the 'pioneers of thrash metal'."

Since it's classic-album time (revering to Nicky's Master Of Puppets  ;)) i might as well tag along.  :D

So, no Arena and no Ayreon tonight.  ;)

Yeah! Frost is good!!
I still remember Jem putting Black Light Machine for download! :o That was two years ago! And I was stunned! And the song still makes my jaw drop to the floor! It still has not lost its beauty...

I'm having a good old Mike Oldfield oldies feel good moment. ;D
Tubular Bells all the way!

I'm tuning in.
Nice guitar solo at the moment, I have no idea what music this is, but that doesn't care. It's prog! ;)
But I think it's RPWL...

By the way, on the schedule it says that 16 february is another Dave O Prog Show.

Hey Mad, could it be that your 'name' was mentioned? It was just after Part Zero by Pineapple Thief. I wasn't exactly following what was said, I only heard that the host was talking about Ayreon and then I heard 'so thanks for that Maddox!'. Just found it funny! :D

Hehe, indeed Tom.  ;D

About a month ago he mentioned me and my son Chris on the show. It's broadcasted live in England and on the Net, you know so i really wanted to have a copy of that.
He just confirmed on the air that he's almost ready with it.  :D

I listen almost every week.
Sadly this is the last show of him.  :(

So this show is from this English neck of the woods!

Is the man in the corner playing Frost* Dave O' Prog? If so, he's headbanging to milliontown like a beast!

Mike Patton and Dillinger Escape Plan is about a million times better than Dillinger Escape Plan... on their own... with no Patton based guidance!

http://www.phoenixfm.com/ WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING???

Marcello, I think that what you're implying is that Dillinger in general are very noisy, and that they're a bit more melodic on Irony Is A Dead Scene (with Mike Patton), but their latest studio album Ire Works is quite melodic too (relatively iac), and the're some real brilliant passages on it. You can start with the beautiful Milk Lizard; I posted a link to the video about a week ago.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Dillinger and Poison The Well on March 5 in Copenhagen  :)

Who says that you have to be staid once you've passed 50 ?   ;)

This is absoloutley fantastic thinking nicky! I in no way see myself as being much different when I'm 50... never too young and never too old for the prog scene, I'm quite the spring chicken at almost 18!

Dillinger are good, it's just that I prefered the collaborative stuff with Patton. He treats his voice as an instrument rather than just for singing words with all the throat hitting and vocalizations he uses.
