... Now that I think of it, this soundtrack album is the ONLY double album that I can sit through without getting bored at one point. ...

Tss, tsss - and what about the Arena live double albums?  ;)

Ah, I wish I was at home now and had access to my CD collection...  ;)

Aha, you're travelling around marshland trying to find Tom. Yeah, I know that he likes playing hide and seek  ;D

I don't have them.

Ok, I'm going to say something and you all will gun me down for it... :(
I don't listen to double albums in one take...

There, I've said it.

Here's the double albums I have:

- The Human Equation (Ayreon)
It's a brilliant double album actually. Especially (there it is) disc one. When finished Disc one (and often skipping "Day Eight: School") I usually don't pop in Disc two immediately. Sometimes I do after a long break, but most of the time I forget it and eventually I listen to Disc 2 when I feel like it. Because the songs on Disc Two are also very good. But when I want to listen to it, I want to listen to it as a whole so automatically I start again with Disc One... :-\

- Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence (Dream Theater)
Most of the time I immediately start with Disc Two. Disc One has two BRILLIANT tracks: "The Glass Prison" and "Misunderstood". But for me Disc Two is far more interesting.

- Paradox Hotel (The Flower Kings)
I never really liked The Flower Kings, so I start with the first disc and never ended it. Maybe I should start with the second disc first. :D

- The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (Genesis)
Brilliant, brilliant. Indeed. I listen to Disc One, after that one I rest and go do something else, after that I put disc two in. So this one comes close.

- Testimony
The first disc is SOOOOOO good. The second disc is ok, but I never can listen to the second disc after having listened to the first disc. I always get to lessay track 4 on the second disc.

- The Dark Third
Originally this one isn't even a two disc disc... But ok... First disc is brilliant, second disc has some ok songs, but it's too long to listen to the whole thing at once.

- Snow
Same as with Testimony really. ;D What a surprise... ::)

Nope, MGS3:Snake Eater is the one that I can listen to start to finish without getting bored.
Maybe I'm crazy! ;D

And of course I'd like to try out Arena's "Contagion The Max", because it has something that all those other double albums don't have and what Contagion and the soundtrack to MGS3 DO have...
But I don't know what it is to be honest...

I'll go and rip some songs, 5 or so. And will post it here, so you can tell me wether I'm crazy, genius or a MGS fanboy! :D

Nope, Paco, you're one of the most passionate and interesting roomies, and I always read your posts with great interest (and I like ragging you too), and I'm surprised at how one can be so mature at 19. When I was 19, I was "thinking" about girls all the time, and wondering why they didn't seem to be thinking bout me, but that story doesn't belong here.

Actually, I do the same as you, regardless whether single or double disc. I go after impulse, listen to a song here and there, and if it's good I repeat it (unless I have to do some homework for Bluey).

For some reason, when I put on The Last Angel, I get stuck with it. (That was an NP.)

Of course not! Everybody has the right to their own opinion - and their own method of listening to CDs, obviously.  :)

Great, Cap, to see you opening up to something entirely new. I guess you have been inspired by our discussions in the Room.

Personally I find Symphony X, particularly Paradise Lost, more ingenious than Kamelot, but you sure are on your way ....

I'm on a discovery journey once again.

http://www.myspace.com/sagaca

I'm listening to Saga on this myspace website.
I was wondering, are there people who like Saga?
And what album is the best to start with?
By the way, I know that the next Saga release will be Michael Sadler's last one. So once again, I'm too late to enjoy the full.
(As with Genesis and Transatlantic and many others...)

I sure do, Paco. I actually only know Worlds Apart well, and I can only recom it highly; it's so good that I'm eager to get more Saga stuff (when my rich uncle turns up, he's a bit slow).

Ok thanks Nicky.

And what about Saga's album "Trust"? Is that recommended? Can anyone tell me?

PS> I'm not really an expert on the Saga-subject so i won't bother helping you.  ;)
I only have the album 'Chapters- Live' and although i like it, it doesn't give me that chill on my spine.
