Today I played (when my dad was in the same room) Porcupine Tree - In Absentia 'till the 9th track.
Then I quickly switched to Songs From The Lion's Cage and played it till the end.

After that, my dad said: "Yes, I always told you that Porcupine Tree was good."
"No dad, that was Arena."
"Oh... Really? Well it was good anyway!"

Normally he hates it when I play Arena. Hehehehe ;D
But this time he was humming along and toetapping. :)

And with good reason!

I think it's time to take him to an Arena gig. Just tell him that you are going to a Porcupine Tree gig  ;D.

Hmm Everon. I believe that i have an album of them somewhere. I believe it was Paradoxes. A couple of years ago they released Bridge and Flesh. Personally i don't like the singer's voice but music wise it's ok, though it ends with that. Not my cup of tea.  :-\

NP> Opeth - Ghost Reveries

Track: The bonus-track: 09 - Soldier Of Fortune

The music of Opeth is a one of a kind and probably the best in metal land. Though i prefer the clean vocals the album is marvelous and ended at no. 1 of my year list of 2005.  *horns*
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Marillion - Script For A Jester's Tear
1. Script For A Jester's Tear

Yup, this is indeed pure class.
I begin to think that Marillion's first couple of albums are indeed a must-buy for a progger.
Too bad I don't have money... Hmm... I got to inform my family and friends on my birthday presents...

Is the album that hard to understand, that you have to listen to it four times before you like it?

Oh sorry.

I'm listening to my keyboard.
I just played and recorded a nice bit of keyboards in the style of Nolan & Wakeman and I'm very proud of it.
Hopefully I'll be able to record a CD one day. Sometimes I'm full of inspiration and the ideas flow like a flushing toilet.
On the other hand, when I look back at some of the things I recorded I think that I could've stayed in bed longer...

Now, you've listened to it at least four times, and still didn't realize that it's actually "Burden of TRUTH".... tsk tsk tsk... too much Metal, I'd say, then. Go see your otorhinolaryngologist.... (had to look this up in a dictionary :) )

Otorhinolaryngologist.
Brilliant word, gotta use it for a progressive lyric somewhere.
It's like the supernatural anaesthetist but different.
I like the word otorhinolaryngologist. The ear, nose and throat doctor. ;D

EDIT: Am I posting this in the Now Playing Thread? ???
Hmmm, gotta think of something that I'm listening to then...

I'm definately in a Nolan & Wakeman mood.
Jabberwocky's on.
3. Dangerous World

Beautiful chorus sung by Tracy Hitchings. Too bad I can't hear what she's singing at some places. And I don't have the CD so I can't look it up...

*something I can't understand*
You carried me when I was weak
Lying on the ground
*something I can't understand*
You carried me when I was sick
weeping on the ground
*something I can't understand*
You followed me when I was lost
No more selfcontrol
*something I can't understand*
You followed me when I was *something*
My tears fell in dust

When I was listening to this yesterday, a tear rolled over my cheek. No joke. It's such an emotional song! Tracy Hitchings is by far the best female (prog)vocalist I know.
I'm so looking forward to the next N&W project, I'm sure Tracy's on there!
But first I'll buy the Landmarq DVD.

Ah, yes, that made me look like a right ar*e then didn't it - DOH!!

.......actually, it was just a test to see if anyone here would spot the deliberate mistake!!! (have I climbed out of my self-dug hole yet?!)

For all you guys who like their (prog) rock hard - try out Circle II Circle - (if you like latter day Savatage with Zak then you'll love this, as it's his band. This (Burden Of Truth ) is their third album now and is their best - the other two albums being Watching In Silence, and The Middle Of Nowhere

Going to be playing something a bit different in a mo......Insomnium - 'Above The Weeping World'
followed by some Moonspell - 'Memorial' and 'Sin/Pecado'

Peter...... all album titles believed to be correct!!!! ;D

Hmmm, I got myself some samples, and I don't think I'll buy this... actually I think this is just plain "Hard Rock" or so, nothing special here.

Man, I can't believe you don't like.....but hey, each to their own......thankfully we're all different otherwise we'd all be listening to the pop rubbish that pollutes the current music charts! ;)
