Ayreon - Into The Electric Castle

I am not so sure which album I like more, this or The Human Equation...
Anyway, I'm really enjoying it!

(Bought it today)

Marillion - Script For A Jester's Tear

I must say that I am really impressed by it!
This is better than I initially thought... (I'm sorry, don't know Marillion that well (only Misplaced Childhood and Anoraknophobia)).

Enjoying it! *horns*

Cool. You're finally getting into the "real" Marillion stuff  ;D Go get "Fugazi", too, you won't regret it. And then, to get you an idea of how absolutely amazing those guys were live back then, get "Real to Reel". My most heard and most appreciated live album - evah!
Arriving somewhere, but not here....

Thanks for the tip, Cap. RTR is the only early M-album I don't have, so got it noted on my SL now. Yeah, Fish-M is always refreshing to listen to  :)

NP  Opeth:  My Arms, Your Hearse.

I guess, here our ways split, Cap.  (Equally)  :)

But for the heavy roomies, you too, Bupie: Don't miss out on this stuff, guys!

One of the great O-albums. As usual starts out real heavy, then splits up in different dirs. The usual unique O-combination of harsh, haunting Mikael growls, and equally haunting cleanies, with Peter rumblin on his guitars, and Martin creating startling and catchy rhythms. Mikael does the bass on this one, of course tremendously.

What's it about? ... ???  The usual O-enigma.

Takes time to get into, but sure's worth the effort.

Opeth have gotten big with Ghost Reveries, and they deserve it.

Sounds like Opeth are a band my brother and his guys should go on tour with!  ;D

Unfortunately, Nicky, I am more in a ballad mood these days so I don't think it's the right time to discover Opeth. In fact, I am desperately trying to get into Marillion 90's and early 21th century albums, let's say from Brave to Marillion.com, and I have hard times. Only This Strange Engine has convinced me so far. But I keep trying :

Opeth are a group everybody should go on tour with: musicians, groupies, cats, dogs, ponies, rattle snakes, Talibans, zombies, roomies, mushy apples, whoever, whatever.

You must have been gripped by them (their music), huh, Bluey?

OK, John, I also stopped buying M-CD's a while ago, but if you think that Somewhere Else is something for me too, I'll follow your recom and get it.

Bupie, mon frere, you don't know what you're missing. Women, wine and Marillion aren't the only pleasures in this world  ;D

No, I haven't yet but I plan to. Let's sum up my vision of the H's era so far :

Seasons End : good
Holidays in Eden : very good
Brave : bad/terrible
Afraid of Sunlight : bad
This Strange Engine : good
Radiation : bad/terrible
Marillion.com : unknown
Anoraknophobia : average/bad
Marbles : very good
Somewhere Else : unknown

That's why I am trying again to get into the aforementioned bad or terrible albums (IMVHO, of course)  because Marbles and TSE took me a loooong time to appreciate. But maybe this could make the point of a new topic in the Other bands or Polls section ? I will think about it  ::)

And, for Nicky, yes I know they are other pleasures in life than women, wine and Marillion. But, to entrust you a secret, the first time I kissed my girlfriend, I was a bit tipsy and listening to Easter, so ...  ;)

Marillion : One fine day

Nice one! Is this the famous 'no more JD' diet?  ;)
(Tried that, too, but it didn't work for me...  :( )

It's a bit like what Peter said about Dream Theater here:

Fiddly widdly scream scream, widdly widdly moog moog scream, widdly wahh ROFL

Can be quite exhausting to listen to after a while!
(Mind you, I only have the downloads from their homepage, not the whole album, so maybe it's different if you listen to the whole song. However, the kind of 'power metal with a lot of breaks' mix they also seem to prefer always makes me reach for the 'skip' button of my CD player...)

I can answer that with a NO, although I don't know what JD is, because I don't go on any official diet (just like I don't go for the corporate hair style and stuff); instead, I try to stop eating at a reasonable point, cut down on fat, flour and sugar, and get some exercise.

I once thought that being veg helps, and it does help my conscience, but doesn't seem to make a difference weightwise; here, it's the above stuff that does it.
