NP  Manticora:  8 Deadly Sins.

Another Danish heavy prog group. (I'm giving all my Danish prog albums a run.) Good stuff, specially considering that they're quite young for prog musicians. Recom if you like Vanden Plas and Wuthering Heights, also thematically, although there is a bit too much Helloween over them for my taste (the M-guys are very devoted to H). Finn Zierler (from Twilight and Beyond Twilight) does some fine keyboard work on 8DS. The production is amazing.

NP  SyX:  Paradise Lost  (and won again).

Also  *horns* *horns* *horns*

2007 must be the best year ever for heavy prog:  Paradise Lost, Systematic Chaos, Scarsick, The End Is Begun, The Origins Of Ruin, Dead Reckoning, Angular Perceptions.

NP  Pallas:  The Dreams Of Men.

Really rocks, innovative, very different moods, profound lyrics.

The killer song here is The Last Angel (on rep now).

It's interesting, the really great groups have their killer songs as closers, noticed that?

Arena and Pallas seem like brothers to me, although I also know who's the big brother  :)

Kamelot - Ghost Opera

How do you find it, Maddox? I listened a bit to it and thought it was good, but not at all on the level of Paradise Lost and Systematic Chaos, to which one naturally compares it, but maybe I was too fast in my judgement?

NP  PoS:  Scarsick  (Spitfall)

A sure winner every time.

SP  Pallas:  The Dreams Of Men.

Man, it's sooo good, I must have lost track of the time. What is it today, Friday, Saturday?

Guys, this is about as close to Arena as it gets - with a Scottish flavor. Hey, where's the Glenfiddich, yeah, gulp, gulp, probably wont get to work tomorrow, well, what the f*, Pallas and Glen are better.

Yeah, The Dreams Of Men is very good.
That reminds me that I need to buy it!
Tomorrow, I will.

Along with Sylvan's "Presets", which is also amazing.
I kept listening to it on my MP3 player and now I need the real thing!
I probably buy Posthumous Silence along with it for good behaviour.

- Lientje

Nicky007

... and Contagion, for even better behaviour, Paco Poca Lientje.

NP  Manic Street Preachers:  Know Your Enemy.

If we're gonna be listening to Britpop, let's take the good stuff.

NP  Michelle Young:  Marked For Madness.

Nice stuff, proglite with Michelle (from Chattanooga (spell that for me, Maddox)) doing some great singing (she reminds me of Kate Bush), the ubiquitous and ever-imaginative Clive Nolan rock'n'rollin on the keyboards, and some f* good guitarist (seems to be Pete Banks from i.a. early Yes) does some Gilmore-like stuff that rockets me.

Gonna get that. Thanks  Nicky, Incredable voice, recognised it as soon as I heard it as the voice of 'Laura Lyons'. The music? It's touched by the genius of Mr. Nolan of course it's exquisite!

Still playing - Michelle Young - marked for madness from her MySpace
