Now listening to Dollhouse Rock Radio. They just played my request: Pendragon - Come Home Jack, from 'Men Who Climb Mountains'. I wanted them to play 'Breaking The Spell', which is my favourite Pendragon song, but this one is too old (from the 90's). They play more recent material. Yet pretty 8).

(Hey Nicky, did you see the ° on the a? ;) )

Excellent, Paxi :)

But then again, you have more of a feel for Swedish (stuff) than most others ;)

NP  The Faceless:  Autotheism *horns*

Truly innovative, quite unlike anything else I've heard, altho the guitar reminds me a bit of Chris Maudling's. Exciting, quickly pantheon with me, gonna pursue this band further ...

Band from Encino, L.A., heavy, fast, growly (but not only), pushing limits in all ways - just my thingy - but probably not for other Roomies, altho Paxi, Mad, Funky, and Jonesey - just maybe, conceivably - could give it a try ;)

Thanks to my job, I guess.

... quickly pantheon with me ...

This reminds me of a movie I saw last week: "The Incredibles".
It's about (former) super heroes. The bad guy in this movie wants everybody to be 'super'. Everyone can be special, and when everyone is special, no one will be.

It's a fun movie!

I'll give it a shot. But don't be angry when I don't like it! :P

That was very informative, Paxi ::)

That's a silly thought, Paxi. The truth is that everyone could be (more) special. If one person has the courage to go more off in his individual direction and thus become special, this adds to the world's collected specialness. If more people decided to become more special, it would add even more.

People are still very herd minded. Gaze out on the streets: 90% walk around in blue or black jeans, they don't dare stick out; pretty much the same people continue to eat dead animals.

Think if people began to think for themselves, instead of just mindlessly following the herd - what an exciting world we'd have.

A community of people who do think and work things out for themselves are prog musicians - they sure do make the world special.

I take that as a compliment, Paxi ;)

I think that you'll like parts, the slower and clean-sung parts. Be patient - as long as you don't end up being one ;D

Also played it yesterday. It was a first listen and it was not bad. Some pretty nice bits, and some bits that I could do without. But it definitely needs some more listens. I think I can like it! ;D
Still need to get more into PoS. I have five of their albums, but haven't found time (and the right mood) to listen to them.

Yesterday, I was also listening to Tohpati Ethnomission. It's a 'band' from Indonesia. Tohpati is actually a guitar player and the leader of the band. They make pretty nice instrumental Indonesian Prog Rock. I found out about them thanks to the website newprogreleases.blogspot.com. That's a website I regularly check (among others) to see if there's something new and interesting. This band got the description: "High-octane Indonesian progressive ethno-jazz-rock-fusion of the highest caliber" and since they're on Spotify, it was very simple to discover them.

On the bus to work this morning it was Hordes of chaos and Enemy of god by Kreator.  I fancied a bit of thrash to kick start my day.

Plus they are playing in Manchester next month supported by Soilwork and Sepultura which sounds like a pretty decent line up

If find that listening to music on the bus is a very relaxed way to enjoy music. You're not quickly distracted and there's not really anything else you can do.

La Bocca Della Verita - "Avenoth" (on Spotify)

On my discovery mission again. This is very pleasant! Don't understand a word of what they're singing, but the music is very Genesis-inspired. It's an Italian band, in the RPI genre (like most Italian bands). It goes on my playlist.

Nice if you don't mind the language. Most of the time it scares me off, don't play prog that is in French, Italian or even Dutch for that reason. Only exception: I have a weak spot for German ;). Sometimes I play music from the band 'Traumhaus' for that reason, but most of the time it's sung in English ...
