It will get better with every listening. I noticed that songs that I didn't like at the beginning, are turning out as favourites. Never thought my current favourite album 'Kingdom Of Desire' would get a contender. XIV might top that album . 'Burn' (melodie gets stuck in the head) and 'Unknown Soldier' are so beautiful!

As always, you were wise and right  Spent five weeks with only two CDs at disposal in my car : Toto XIV and a Nickelback's Greatest Hits. There was not much competition 

After something like 40 (!) complete listens, I have a soft spot for Orphan (while heavily regretting the fadeout during the solo  ) and All The Tears That Shine. The only song that has let me down is Fortune. Overall a very good album.

Too much honour for me I'm afraid . Glad it clicked eventually.

On Allstreaming.nl. Wanted to know if there's more action on this album. I do own his album 'On An Island', which I consider 'fighting against the sleep'. I'm afraid the new album is in the same category, at least for me .

Actually, it's quite a jazzy album, with some slow, maybe mellow if you like, songs but overall it's a bit more catchy than the previous album.

Not that I like the new album.
I suppose it needs some time to sink in.

I've spent the past 75 minutes watching and listening to Parts One and Two of Testimony by Neal Morse, as performed on the MorseFest DVD.
It's beautiful. This has such an emotional impact on me. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: this man can make me cry like a baby. This is not even my favourite album of his, but he is such an honest musician and performer and needless to say that the content of his music (and the lyrics) is touching me in my soul.
I'm already exhausted, but after dinner I'll watch Part Three, Four and Five of Testimony and the Encores. And perhaps I'll find the time to watch the second disc, but chances are that I'll watch it tomorrow.
But I will watch it, because this, people, this is great!

^^ Yeah, Neal rules indeed. I found the package too expensive, would have preferred a DVD only. I don't find myself playing the live cd's that often ... . And I've read the filming was not so good. Maybe later, money saved for other releases later this month (Gazpacho, Subsignal) and next month (Mystery). And I want to buy the new Antimatter, but this one also has to wait .

Just finished watching the second disc of the Morsefest DVD. Man, what a fantastic DVD! Most of these songs have already been performed in one way or another. But not all of them! And there are so many extra things that make this DVD stand out. In Stranger In Your Soul the band is switching instruments and they are all pros in all instruments it seems. Incredible.

In some places it's a little bit grainy. But not often, and it takes nothing away from the pleasure. Other than that there's nothing wrong with the filming in my opinion.
In fact I enjoyed this double DVD so much that it's safe to say that it's the best live DVD that I've ever seen!
Must have been quite the experience to be there.
