In a similar vein i am currently playing No more color by Coroner which is a stonking technical death metal ish progressive album. One of my fave metal bands from the 80's

Must start listening to some of the latter Death albums

NP  Ihsahn:  angL

As you know, I'm a big Ihsahn fan (he's pantheon with me). His music is very complex, and on first run, I havent yet figured this album out, just noticed the advanced lyrics, song titles like Alchemist, Malediction, Monolith, and a guy called Mikael Ã…kerfeldt singin on Unhealer  8)

I'm confident that I'l end up likin this album a lot .....

Funky, you'r probably the only other Roomie that gets this stuff. Have you heard anythin by Ihsahn or Emperor ?  ;)

Alchemist is probably one of the most accessible tracks on the album:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=dj4LJX2x52o

The weather is gorgeous and sunny here but my musical tastes are dark and heavy at the moment. Strange eh ?

I was pretty much into them when I was in highschool. Since then I moved on quite a bit. What do you think so far? Maybe it's time to go back in time and revisit (and maybe rediscover?) Deftones! :)

JP: Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns

It gets a lot of slack from LP-fans but I really like this one. After Hybrid Theory it is probably my fave LP-record.

NP: Dredg - Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy

Another band that gets loads of negative criticism for their latest output. They are mostly accused of 'selling out' and for working with a popular producer (Dan The Automator). I on the other hand like this new album for what it is. It sounds fresh and is unique in Dredg's discography but I can see why it may be too big a departure from the 'old' sound for some. Although I don't think 'Chuckles' will end up being my favourite Dredg-album I really appreciate that they are at least trying to do something new instead of repeating themselves endlessly. Big thumbs up for Dredg!
