And it came to pass that Nicky007 was to immerse himself into Mastodon:

NP  Mastodon:  Blood Mountain  (on repeat)

Great stuff, but not so melodic, which makes it rather demanding. But I'm sure I'l be singing (or humming, Paxi) along soon  *horns*

Crack The Skye is really being praised widely. I'l have to get it asap.

They're actually playing in Cop these days, as a warmup band for Metallica, some 3-4 big concerts. Metallica are real big in DK - but Mastodon are better, more prog  ;)

Tom, did you know this:

"Dailor has also said that Crack the Skye is meant as an homage to his sister, Skye Dailor, who committed suicide at age 14.

'My sister passed away when I was a teenager and it was awful, and there's no better way to pay tribute to a lost loved one than having an opportunity to be in a group with my friends and we make art together. Her name was Skye, so Crack the Skye means a lot of different things. For me personally, it means the moment of being told you lost someone dear to you, [that moment] is enough to crack the sky.'" - Wikipedia: Crack the Skye

:o  Interesting, considering I bought Crack the Skye partly on your recommendation.  It's good!

NP: Pearl Jam - Yield

The best surf band in the history of Seattle  (OK, Eddie's really from Cali, but still).

Poignant, and kinda spooky given that I'm listening to Eels at the moment.  E's sister's suicide figures in the Eels catalogue.

NP: Eels - Blinking Lights and Other Revelations.

Actually, I have Achtung Baby.  It is good.  I just think a lot of their mid and later stuff is kind of ho-hum, but they still have their moments.

Just shows how intelligent I am: I can recommend an album without having listened to it  ;D

Actually I think it was the Wiki-excerpt that I had copied over that influenced you, Greenie  ;)

NP  Mastodon:  Blood Mountain  (on repeat, 6th run)

I'v now reached the point where I use the repeat button on track level. Stuck-on songs are Sleeping Giant and Siberian Divide  *horns*

If I decide I want to write my own album, will you be able to sell it without it actually being recorded?   ;D

I love all their previous albums, but I'm very disappointed by this album. Too little melodies, too many screaming/grunting  :-\. Totally not my cup of tea/coffee.

Well, I had a lot of fun lately!
I listened to ELO with my dad and I've listened to Marillion on my own.
Holidays In Eden was the first one I extensively listened to.
And I can say that I like every song on that album! :o It's amazing! And it's very poppy too! ::)

I've listened twice to Afraid Of Sunlight but that one doesn't click with me yet, although the title song is very good (and I heard it live at a Kino concert!).
Haven't listened to Brave yet.

Updates soon! :D
