Alright, back to cleaning my room! :'(

Queensrÿche - Building Empires

I've never managed to get this one on DVD, in fact I'm not sure it was ever released, so I've transferred my VHS copy to DVD to make it more convenient to watch 8)

Utterly excellent release, especially the concert footage, although some of the earliest videos are excruciating in their MTV-ness.  At least the band have the grace and good humour to refer to this as their comedy era ;D

Great stuff, of course  *horns*

NP: Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet

Nil Recurring has perhaps the best heavy guitar they've ever done.  I'd say it's a tie between that and R.E.M.'s Chronic Town for the best EP I ever bought.  Anyway, it whetted my appetite for some more heavyish PT.   :)

It Bites - The Big Lad In The Windmill

Second listen. The first one, several months ago, was really unpleasant  :P This time, I'm starting to hear some good things but I am not sure that it will be enough for me in the long run. The first bands that come to my mind when I listen to this album are ... ABC and Duran Duran, which is not necessarily a bad thing in my book, though.

PH

Great idea Bupie!
I'm going to put on It Bites' latest! Excellent album!

Great, Greenie, you'l soon be wired up for some DrTh (just to avoid any possible escapes)  ;D

I played ToT a few times  *horns*

I read about the new Wilco album, and decided that the afternoon will be devoted to my three Wilco-albums (another fine group that's ignored by roomies)  :P

Hey guys, what happened to adventurousness ?  Has the Room become complacent (Jonesy excepted, of course) ?  ;)

First you show me that you really mean "adventurous" by running the Chris Cornell stuff that I posted special for you, my frrriend.

If you write something that clearly demonstrates that you have done just that, I'l tell you all ya wanna know about Wilco - also their sexual preferences  ;)

Meantime I can get better into'm (the music, that is)  :-[

To my ears, Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree have about two things in common: they both have some guys in them, and a lot of them know how to play their instruments.  I'm willing to allow for the possibility that DrTh will click for me one day, but I'm not holding my breath at the moment.

Give Ziltoid the Omniscient a couple dozen spins and then talk to me about adventurous.

I've heard of Wilco but just barely.  I didn't think they were proggy -- somehow I had the impression that they were somewhere between R.E.M. and Dinosaur Jr. (which wouldn't make them bad), but I've yet to hear much of them.

By the way, have you guys really been having an extended conversation about mushrooms?  I'll decline to comment on who is biting into them and why.  Mushrooms are good on pizza, but here in the colonies, we only have two kinds of mushroom: edible and poisonous.  I prefer the former.

Arena? Can you tell more about them? I heard that there was someone of Pendragon who was in the band. Peter Gee?

I believe you're referring to the gent with the new socks (or so sayeth our newest non-spam member).  Most of their songs seem to be about high-end mushrooms.  I could be wrong about that part.  Much is left to the interpretation of the listener.
