Same reason with Arena's The visitor polls, my deeply impression for Contagion is for entire the album, not as song by song.
However, i have that list:

Special for Riding the tide, i really enjoy the nuance from City of Lanterns - Riding the tide - Mea Culpa.
It becomes a special feel, like my feeling when enjoy Lie - Lifting Shadows - Scarred from DT's Awake, or Further Away - Leap Of Faith - Came Down from IQ's Ever.

It's hard to make such a choice, every song is great on this album. On the others too, but this one is my favourite one.

This album has probably the best lyrics of all Arena albums.
The reason why i choose Never Ending Night is partly because of that. One of the lines is:

"In my blind obsession to avoid the fools i've see, how could i not recognize the fool was always me?"

Brilliant!!!!! 

Bitter Harvest has great lyrics too, like The Sunbaked Bones and such. This album for me is Lyrical delight.

Yes, I agree. That line was one of my favourites for a very long time. It was in my MSN name for quite some time too.

It's the name written in the back of the cover, but in the lyrics booklet it's called Bitter Harvest. Clive changed its name at the last minute, that's why it's written Fallow Ground.

Yeah, on the cover of the standard edition it says Fallow Ground, you're right. But on the promotional copy of the album (split into 72 tracks to impede piracy! ) which was pressed far earlier than the cd's that would end up in the stores the song is already titled 'Bitter Harvest'.

So although the title of the song was indeed changed at the last minute, it was a simple mistake by the pressing plant, if I remember correctly.

So you don't have to search very long. For example 'This Way Madness Lies' is track 13 and Cutting The Cards is track 61! Still, that's a lot of tracks you have to skip if you want to listen to Ascension only!

Yes I have. I got it from Rob after a gig at the end of 2002, a couple of months before the album came out. I still remember vividly sitting in my room the next day, listening to the album for the first time. Ah, great memories!
