The great old skool video game poll

Ok this had to be asked, really.  Of the two classic characters, who is the better man (or hedgehog)??

I know where my vote is...

I'll have to abstain -- I only had a passing acquaintance with either of them.  My game was Defender, and the little space ship didn't have much personality.  A friend and I used to play it so much that we regularly got kicked out of a bar mid-game due to closing time.

Well to be honest, both characters are rather dull but if i had to choose...


Sonic.

I voted for Mario.

Sonic is just way too fast, I was never really enthusiastic about the game.
He looks kinda cool though, but Mario's personality is better.
And I had a lot of fun playing Super Mario World.

Well... I only had a "Game Boy" with "Tetris" (that came with it as a standard game)... my brother was far more into those games...

Actually I think Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet is my favourite character. But he's not really oldskool I guess, since the game came out somewhere last year...
