Due to the forum being down for two days, we missed Erik's birthday! :(
Happy belated birthday Erik!! :)
I hope you had a good one.

A belated happy birthday from me too, Eric. :)

Sorry guys, everyday life sometimes pushes things in the background. Since I moved this forum to a new server recently, I don't have all the little watchdogs running yet, so I didn't realize that the forum was offline until I looked at it myself. I hope, everything will be alright now, though :)

I definitely can understand that.

Two kids growing up, three shifts, keeping things running smoothly in and around house, getting older (but young at heart  ;D) which makes it sometimes harder to get through the day (the shifts-thingy is also responsible for that)
And a day has only 24 hours.

And thanks Peter for getting us back online again.
As sad as it might sound, I seriously don't know what I would do without this forum. All my musical roots started here. I need this forum, I need you guys to keep my musical engine fueled. I don't know about you, but I need to talk about my discoveries and about how I experience my musical tastes. Sharing this passion with someone is a big and (to me) essential part in the experience.

Oh man... what if this forum would be gone for a whole year...?? :o :-X
Where would I go?

Great album. Don't know if I wrote it before here, but gor me it's like a dream coming true. Love Erik Norlander's keyboard parts. Own a number of his solo albums and Rocket Scientist albums. And I have all Asia studio albums, both John Wetton and John Payne era. The wait was (way too) long, but totally worth it. One of my favourite 2018 releases.
I still have to buy it, but for me this is a highly anticipated album as well. Love all the Asia stuff but the Payne era in particular (Aria - Arena - Aura is a marvellous string of albums), also the GPS album. Rather ugly how he was kicked out, even though I understand they wanted to resurrect the old line up. The Dukes album has been a long time in the making, first announced as Architects of Time, then Americana. I had almost given up on it, but here it is finally! Intend to go to the gig in October as well. Paco you can get the GPS album 2nd hand @Progoutlet for 7 euros, maybe Silent Nation also turns up at some point: http://progoutlet.nl/prod01.htm

NP Flower Kings - The Sum of no evil

Before played: Habitants - One Self
Excellent debut album of new band with the guitarist of the Gathering. Saw their first ever live gig last week, when they were supporting The Gathering. Both support and main act were really great and I had not seen The Gathering live since 2012 so it was a real nostalgia trip.

Yeah, I still have to find out more about Erik Norlander and his bands.
His solo albums 'Into The Sunset' and 'Music Machine' are great. And I do love the Rocket Scientist albums, 'Oblivion Days' being my favourite. A certain 'A.A.L.' plays a guitar solo on one song and rhythm guitar on a number of tracks ;).

Oh wow, Satellite! Yeah, it's been a while since I listened to them. Still only have "Evening Games", but I think it's a minor masterpiece of Neo-Prog! Like it a lot!
I own 'Evening Games', 'A Street Between Sunrise And Sunset' and 'Nostalgia'. The first two I mentioned are my favourites, great music! 'Nostalgia' and 'Into The Night' don't reach that high level anymore.

np: Wolverine - Cold Light Of Monday

On Spotify, first time I heard this album. Some beautiful songs on it. Have to listen to it again ...

Thanks, guys!  :)
I had a nice day and the Flower Kings box set Kingdom of Colours 2 has now been added to the collection 8)

Good to have the forum back online, however small the community has become these days. I agree Paco, sharing a passion for music is what it is all about, whether it is here or elsewhere.

Yes, also bought it. I prefer the albums with his band ...
Yeah me too! And he is going to release another one this year. He should get on with it and post a few samples and promo videos online. He needs to hurry up, we're already halfway! ;D

but I'm playing it so now and then and that's a good sign. You have to be in the mood for it.
It's like the song says:

"I just thought I’d write a song
To tell you all the way I feel
But it ain’t no big deal
I just thought I’d lay it down
And try my best to keep it real
Like a little Neil…Young

And I hope it makes you feel just a little lazy
Like you could take a little time and lay your crazy down"

Thinking of buying the 'Similitude Of A Dream' live DVD
You should do that! It's excellent! 8) Just finished watching it yesterday.

the new Mystery album and the new 'The Pineapple Thief' album is not far away. Exciting year so far and exciting releases yet to come  8) *horns*.
Oh yes indeed. I didn't know Mystery was going to release a new album this year. I still have to listen to their "Delusion Rain".
How would you compare "Delusion Rain" to "The World Is A Game"?

I just realised that "The World Is A Game" was released in 2012 and "Delusion Rain" in 2015. Time flies! ::)

And I still want to listen to "Magnolia" and "The Wilderness" by Pineapple Thief. It's hard to get into. But Gavin Harrison makes me feel the need for it.
