Title: Frost* announce new six track Others EP
Post by: erik on Thu, 2020-05-14, 20:22:00
UK prog rockers Frost* have announced anew six track EP Others which will be released through InsideOut Music on June 5.

“Others is a six-track EP containing 6 songs that were written at the time of the Falling Satellites album," explains keyboard player and singer Jem Godfrey. "Initially the idea was that Falling Satellites would be a double album, but it felt more focused and concise as a single album by the time we’d finished making it, so these half completed songs were put to one side. Now finished and mixed, they are ready to see the light of day!”

Others will be released digitally on June 5, and will also form part of an upcoming anthology-artbook, 13 Winters which will be released later this year.

Frost* are currently working on a new studio album, which is also slated for release later in 2020.

Frost*: Others
1. Fathers
2. Clouda
3. Exhibit A
4. Fathom
5. Eat
6. Drown

Yeah, cool! I read about it on Facebook. I just hope we can get a physical copy of "Others" instead of a download... (I would pay normal album price for a Frost EP!!)
Looking forward to the new album!

I agree, really want a physical version. Wondering what this means exactly: “...and will also form part of an upcoming anthology-artbook, 13 Winters which will be released later this year.”  The inside out news adds “physically” too that sentence. Will that be the only way to get a physical copy and what else will this anthology artbook bring? More will be revealed shortly according to the Frost* facebook page.

The ep indeed has the same vibe as Falling Satellites.
Like it, though at first listen I understand why they didn't appeared on that album.
I like the songs on the album better.

Look forward to the boxset.
Sounds expensive.

Have to agree with Maddox. Listening for the 2nd time, but it says enough they didn't appear on 'Falling Satellites'. Not the same level unfortunately. Bring on the new album.

Same here. Not of the same level. Still, it's very exciting to hear anything new/previously unheard by Frost*!
I have the EP in my Spotify playlist, so I'm sure the songs will come by every now and then. Maybe, in time, these songs might grow on me.

And yes, I second Teunis: Bring on the new album!!

So, the details for the forthcoming 13 Winters artbook anthology (8 discs) have been announced, due November 20th:

The good is that the Others EP now becomes available on cd, the out of print Philadelphia Experiment is included (which I missed out on), as well as new live stuff and assorted stray tracks and Falling Satellites instrumental versions.

Downsides are that Philadelphia Experiment is abbreviated (missing tracks would have fitted on the Others disc?) and of course duplication of the three original studio albums albeit remastered/remixed. Rockfield Files is absent, but I do have that one so less duplication I guess. Knowing myself, I will probably get this set ::)

I only don't own Philadelphia Experiment and the Others EP, but wasn't that enthusiastic about the latter one. I find it too expensive (as I own most of it) and will wait for the new studio album 8).
