Title: Something I don't understand on the Genesis website
Post by: PH on Wed, 2005-12-21, 20:34:07
When I was looking on the official Genesis website www.genesis-music.com I saw this:

Mike, Tony and Phil wish all of their
fans around the world a Happy
Christmas and a Peaceful New Year

Why Phil?
Phil isn't in the band anymore...
Shouldn't it be "Mike and Tony wish all blah blah blah"?

Is Genesis still in contact with Phil businesswise?
If not, why only Phil and not like:
Mike, Tony, Peter, Steve and Phil wish all of their
fans around the world a Happy
Christmas and a Peaceful New Year

Maybe I'm still hoping on a new Genesis album...... :-[
Or even a Genesis reunion...

It's very simple: Genesis is 'owned' by Mike, Tony and Phil. Realize that Genesis isn't some blokes playing in a garage (a situation we usually refer to as a band). There's not such romantic thing these days.
Genesis is a company, owning music rights, a studio, etc.etc. Although Phil hasn't been an content-provider for over a decade, he still is in the company.
BTW, he was involved in promoting the Video-show DVD.

About the R-word. Neither Peter, Phil or Steve are against it, but management declared it is not to happen within the next 12 months.

But after that...?
