Title: Chain Letters
Post by: marcello on Sun, 2005-10-23, 22:43:58
Dont you just hate chain emails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to read them for comical purposes, until one that i recieved said if i dont send this to "x" amount of people in "x" minutes, i would die  ???

Has anybody ever had an experience like this before (no, not death, because thats plain silly)

Chain letters are automatically deleted.

A message is then sent to the sender asking them to "Please don't send me this crap..."

...or words to that effect! ;D

Marvellous!

There's nothing like an 'eye to eye deal' with friends! ;D

I have to recommend that as an effective strategy.

I used to get freaked out by chain letters and would automatically do what they said, not because I totally believed in what would happen but there was enough of a nagging doubt in my mind.  The whole thing just made me feel uneasy.

Nowadays, if I do get that sort of mail ...

If it's an amusing or uplifting message, I will pass it on, but before doing so, I edit out the "you must pass this on or else" part of the email and substitute something like "pass this on if you feel like it" instead.

If I don't like the message, it gets deleted.

Fortunately, I don't get many of these.  I don't generally read emails that are from a sender unknown to me.  They just get trashed automatically.
