Dream Theater - Hammersmith Apollo - Tuesday 25th October (1/2 DT set, 1/2 classic album "Dark Side of the Moon")
Porcupine Tree - Cambridge Junction - Sunday 11th December
Just wondering??
Si
Not exactly there, but both artists are in my concert schedule in that order, but here in Germany.
Why are Dream Theater playing 'Dark Side Of The Moon'?

why not...?
they do this as an extra for the audience. I think it's cool. But they don't seem to be doing this at every gig...

DT often plays an album from other artist. Something like a tribute I think? I know they did a Metallica album once.

Yeah, I know that DT do cover certain songs, but
~a whole Floyd album?~ I mean, Pink Floyd music is sacred stuff, man! You can't have any old Tom Dick and Harry playing it! No, no, no! :o

Good thing DT aren't ;) (or isn't ??? Whatever 8))
Dream Theater started doing this a couple of years ago - if they play two nights at the same venue they play a full DT set for the first night, then on the second night the first half is DT (completely different songs to the previous night) then the second half they play a classic album in it's entirety. Only happens a couple of times per tour so it's a bit special. Previously they have played Metallica - Master of Puppets and Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast.....rumour has it they may play Queensryche - Operation:Mindcrime another time...

They do this to break up the general monotony of a tour for both them and for fans who go to both nights at the same venue. In 2 nights, you can experience over 3-4 hours of DT material AND a cover of another classic album, played by some of the best musicians on the planet. Not bad IMHO.
Hope you enjoy it rocker666.
I had to cancel my prepaid DT gig yesterday night, becuase of my cold. Darn!

I'm sorry to learn that. A friend of mine saw DT on their 'Train Of Thought' tour. He said they were really good. :)
I couldn't accompany him to that gig beacause of a wage disaster that month. >:(
Simillar to my not seeing Arena at the Mean Fiddler due to a recent financial disaster. :'(
Oh well, next time... ABSOLUTELY -- 100% -- DAMN RIGHT! ;D
