A bet you thought you'd never see this again :)
Ian
Wow!
Nice Ian!
Cool, that must have been a really great moment. If only...
.... they had the original drummer for the song? Was that what you wanted to say Peter?
Great to welcome you here Ian! Thanks for the pictures!
That also really warmed my heart to see, particularly considering how hard it was in the late 80's. Thanks, Ian.
I've pretty much lost interest in Marillion, but if Fish ....
Nicky.
Wow... historical moment indeed!

Nooo, that would have been far too much to ask, really, and hard to set up.... probably... ;D
What I was trying to say, that I would have really liked to be there!
I can die happy now, It was a great day and the encore was superb, Fish is better than ever, and to have the rest of Marillion join him was History in the making, Look forward to the tour.
Fish is for life. ;D

you right JJ where was the guy who formed that band and the reason why this guys are where they are today? Where was Mick Pointer???
QuoteWhere was Mick Pointer???
Rightly said so: It is great to see current Marillion and Fish on one stage, but a REAL reunion (for the early material that is) should include good ole Michael!
Dear friends, read this:

Hi Guys,
This is a first and only post here!
Thanks for the comments on the gig. I had a brilliant time on Sunday and as has been pointed out the performance in the Market Square had nothing to do with reunions or anything else apart from 5 good mates and musos getting up on a stage together and having a laugh. We had always wanted to play the square back in the old days but never got the chance. It was a wonderful wallow in the nostalgia pond for all concerned.Despite rumours we are all actually mates and grown ups as well
I've got nothing but respect for H and the boy does a damn good job with the band, long may they continue.
Sunday was an opportunity and we all took it. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it so nothing was said beforehand in the press or on the web sites. It was pure fun for all concerned, nothing else. I think you can tell from our smiles on stage, and for those who were around us all backstage and at the pub it was obvious there was no animosity or anything else apart from 5 old friends having a great laugh together.
Thanks to the Marillo crew for helping out on the day , Lucy for being cool and lovely as always, and of course Mark, Steve, Ian and Pete for being great mates and good sports!
take care and stay alive
Fish
ex Marillion
It never was intended to be a reunion gig, just one show of Fish with the help of some good ol' friends.
Personally i don't get it that a) people are hoping for an re-union and b) also want Mick to be a part of that. When Fish left Ian was the drummer of Marillion.
Though an amazing event, it was a one-off.
I think Maddox is very right there. As proggies we should look forwards more than backwards. Times change, and prog musicians usually more than other people. Fish has done some amazing things since leaving M (you can't keep back genius, only by killing it), and M, well that's up to others to decide.
I think that Genesis ruled with Duke and Abacab, but seeing them today as mediastars on stadium podiums makes me sad. With Floyd it's a different matter (am I contradicting myself?). Well, I guess we all have our personal fads in the last end.
In any case: Prog rules.
Thanks for bringing the quote, Maddox. That was great reading.
But tell me (and maybe others): What is MOLF? I tried to google, but didn't find anything on a short search.

Yes, it was... a one off for fun, I know. But the guys getting together was a re-union...

It's not my biggest wish but I wouldn't mind a Marillion gig with Fish doing Clutchting and H doing Brave,... it has been discussed but never made it.
As far as Mick's concerned: the only point I wanted to make: I think Mick's role in Marillion's history whould not be forgotten. And it is, even by the Marillio's themselves. I have it from a good source that Mick had to pick up his copy of the excellent Script-DVD from the shop. Personally I find that a bit strange (to put it mild).
Conclusion: this was a great event. No, it wasn't a reunion. And if one ever happens: I'd love to see Mick play with the guys (even if it's an encore), because he deserves the spot as founder of the band.
And Mick, please bring over your script-show to the continent ;)

maybe Mick wasn't in the band when Fish left but what peeps forget is that Mick is the guy who formed this band...and without him, it wouldn't have any Marillion today... maybe that's why some of us would like to see Mick Pointer back for a night or two! Also a little bird told me that Marillion did MARKET SQUARE HEROES so that's not one of Mick's time??? I think it is!
Some time it's good to look at the
real past to make a better future...
And for the Script show; it's coming soon... get ready!!!

Okay, where and when..... ??
If you can't be more specific: country and month will do for now...
