Oh we're excited all right.

But not for the Christmas gifts. ;)

We already had that two weeks ago with Sinterklaas (sort of a Christmas dude but then different, with black pete's  ;D) so we're skipping Santa for this year.

6th December is my birthday so i am aware of that day mate

Christmas - celebration of Christ's birth or a massive overspend with no good will to all men ?

Teunis

Usually we celebrate it on 5th December with Sinterklaas, but this year we're doing a sort of game with presents with our family. You don't know what you're getting. I'm not a game type, but okay. It'll be fun ;). A voucher for buying cd's would be okay *horns*.

As a good Dutchie we celebrate Sinterklaas. Santa Claus is a rip off. I think it's even more crazy that some people celebrate Sinterklaas AND Christmas with presents.......

It's strange that the emergence of light in the darkness of mankind now, 2000 years later, has become such a superficial, commercial affair  :o

Christ chased the peddlers outta the grounds of the Temple. Maybe we should do something similar with our current hawkers  ;)

As nobody is interested in my opinion - except for you guys, now and then - I'v simply chosen to ignore the commercial exploitation of Christmas and focus on the religious aspects  :)

Unfortunately, the latter I'm afraid.
Though there are lots of people who still believe in the 'spirit of Christmas', the whole thing is more about selling the goods than the romantic, religion reason.

I do agree with people who say that it's all Hippocratic, because why bother to like people, when you hate them the rest of the year (black and white, I know...), but it's all cozy, nice and despite the weather, quite warm. The feelings I mean.

Winter is the season for me along with spring actually but December is probably my favorite month of the year.

That almost feels like an insult.  ;)

But...though I'm officially not a religious person, I totally agree!

See?  ;D

I dont really celebrate Christmas as I will be on my own again and I think it is just far too commercialised nowadays. The only thing different I will do is watch all the music dvds I havent yet seen such as the Arena one with the album and Porcupine Tree etc. I will watch no Xmas tv at all. Theres nothing I really need and I prefer the giving anyway. Although I did just receive an Amazon gift voucher!! :D Merry Christmas one and all!! *horns*

I like my metal dark, sinister, stark, cold and biting ... but the climate  :o

But it makes for more music playing, as music raises my spirits  8)
