ROFL = Rolling On Floor Laughing

Yes, very jealous. If I turn my nickname around, you'll get something like this: Nam Ylfrettub Eht. Then I think Xoddam sounds a bit better to be honest...

But, If I decide to change my name regardless how it may sound when you speak it out loud, I might as well change my nationality to Israeli or something! :P

Obviously you don't listen much to the radio, Tom. Cause 90% of it is crappy, the only exceptions being some old Elton John or Queen song (which we really don't need to hear once more), at least the Danish popular channels, and it's probably not so different in marshland  :'(

NAY for junk music !!!

No it's not very different indeed...Sure, I know that most stuff that is on the radio is crap but I forgot my iPod when I went to work yesterday. Therefore I had no choice but to listen to the radio all day...

This may get lost in transatlantic slang translation, but would that be called an iPud?

For once, dictionary.com was real funny on this one:

pud   slang for "penis," 1939, from pudding in the same slang sense (1719); from the original "sausage" sense of pudding. - Online Etymology Dictionary.

I can see that "penis" and "sausage" have somethin in common, but guys, where does "pudding" come in ?  ;D

Manatee, the artist formerly known as Cuppatea until it was discovered to be just lightly perfumed water.

Also known as Green Aquatic Creature, as per his avatar.  The biscuit bit is, as far as Green Aquatic Creatures go, something of a red herring.  Being a self-confessed American he's demonstrated a marked lack of familiarity with biscuits, being more at home with the somewhat quainter 'cookies' that history has proven less likely to frighten small children and result in litigation over there.

Much like American footballers, if faced with a Real Biscuit he'd probably need to dress up in full body armour and take a rest every 30 seconds ;) ;) ;) ;)

If faced with a Real Biscuit (TM), I would probably need a visit to the gastroenterologist.   And as I understand it, the body armor (note the lack of the extraneous 'u') is more necessary for those in the stands for "football" matches over there.   ;D

Wait a minute... I don't like the sticky packaging that ruins my cd boxes.
But I DO like the stickers telling me that it has the drummer of Dream Theater and the keyboard player of Spock's Beard.

I have a chunk of cheddar that's gotten a bit moldy.  Perhaps I should don ninja gear and stuff his speakers with it under the cover of darkness.  If you've had French onion soup as it's served here, you, no doubt, are aware that cheese is nature's great insulator.  If it can hold back that much heat, perhaps it can do the same with offensive sounds.   8)

There was one that Cap did get rid of several weeks ago as well as the current one and another one from a week or two ago that I think is still around (but I won't post the name and draw attention to their spam as they obviously wish).

I take it you encountered one today.  I do hope it wasn't me.   :o

My NAY is for CD jewel box hinges that snap off at the slightest twitch.  Just got a new (by which I mean old) Arena CD in the mail today, and I promptly snapped off a hinge while opening the bloody thing.  I've been meaning to get some replacement jewel boxes anyway, and they're not expensive, but its still a little depressing when it's a brand new CD.

I think it's best all around if we leave the above to Madame Bupsie.   And yes, of course, although I think the remedies only come into play if one is reacting to the more appealing kind of intercourse as if it were L.I. traffic.

That was my guess.  There was a time when my friends and I were fans of Carlsberg Elephants for much the same reason (although 11.5% probably beats an Elephant).  And yes, fresh Heineken is quite nice, although over here, there's a frequent problem with it either not traveling well or sitting around for too long and thereby becoming "skunky", which is unpleasant.

While I acknowledge that iTunes is imperfect, I continue to revel in the fact that it sucks far less than RealPlayer.  The moral of the story is, if you start with crap, everything that comes afterward is a pleasant surprise.  Similarly, if I ever get involved with a woman who is consistently civil to me, I'll likely assume I've found a saint and marry her on the spot.   :-\

Just read an Amazon.com "Editorial review" that ends with:  "No matter its strengths, OM II ultimately reinforces the idea that while Queensrÿche's greatest moments may still lie ahead, the prospects of that being true become increasingly scant with each passing record. A decent enough stab at rekindling old glory that fails with admirable flair." --Jedd Beaudoin

Made me think:  The big problem with official/paid reviews is that the reviewers are/feel compelled to deliver somethin within a spin or two.

This is of course absurd in the case of an album like OM II  ::)

I mentioned it in another thread (thanks Iggy for the answer  ;)) but I feel that it is really unfair to put the blame ou the referees. I didn't see it while I was watching the game on TV. My brother was at the stadium and he didn't see it neither, nor anybody there. It's only because of the Irish players' reactions that everybody realized that there was a problem. So I won't blame the referee(s) who had been very good so far. Put the video for the goals, as they exist for the tries in rugby, and you solve the problem ...

Yep I've really gone off it. I don't mind the Henry thing what I mind is that no one seems interested in helping the ref's with technology. I mean I ask you a beach ball, a hand ball and none of the officials saw it.  ::)

Maybe we need 8 not 4.

American football on the other hand it's rare for an important wrong decision to occur.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that, but they have instituted a replay/challenge rule that allows coaches to get them to take another look at some of the more important mistakes.  Doesn't fix everything, but it helps.  On the other hand, the crowd can get restless waiting around while they check the replay from every conceivable camera angle.

And NAY for computers that freeze up for no particular reason.   >:(

Being a former cornerback myself, I think that the referees should have a different approch of pass interferences, video or not  >:(

Excellent Bupie it wasn't an option when I was playing sport. I was a front row forward and recieved sore ears most matches. I would have loved to have played American Football but feel I may be a bit old now.  :(

My sport is soccer. I played it for 25 years and still touch the ball from time to time. American Football was not really an option for me neither but it's such a small sport in France (about 4000 players, I think) that everybody was and is still welcome. American Football cost me a knee but, yes, I had real fun playing. The sound of helmets crushing on pads ... *horns*  The only problem was that Canadian players wanted to play extreme metal in the locker room before the games  ;D It was a time when January meant College Football bowl games that were also fun to watch (waaaaaay more than NFL's).

I would have loved to play rugby too though but I guess it will be in another life. By the way, what do you think of reincarnation, you guYs (Iggy, Funky, Nicky, ManatY ...  :D)

My sport is soccer.

I think it's great when people play soccer, particularly kids. There's the good exercise, usually in fresh air, and then there's, equally important, the training of social skills  *horns*

However, when 30+ers spend hours gaping at matches and talking endlessly about this and that goal, then I say: Get a Life !!!

By which we get to:

Yeah, I'm 50/50 about it. I'v studied it a lot, I'v met people who claim they can see into previous lives, and some of'm have told me stuff about my own (claimed) previous lives  ???

I think that one can only be sure about reincarnation if/when one convincingly "sees" one of one's own previous lives.

As that has not happened to me, I'm not sure that I have more than this life on earth ... and there's so much to experience and learn.

E.g. one of my major projects is to get into Hegel's philosophy. He took it upon himself, as probably the first fully, to make a science of the mind and its evolution from Dasein to pure self-conscious spirit - and I think he succeeded, to a great extent iac.

So why waste time on ... see above  ;)

Btw, I mentioned it earlier in the Room: 2½ years ago, my bro took me to the French rugby final in the big Paris Arena. It was quite fun watching ... but what I liked best was the freely flowing beer and gin and tonics afterward. I also realised that the French take their drink well (better than the Brits); even these rugby ruffians were completely peaceful, friendly and fun  ;D

Nicky.

The French rugby final is usually the day of the year where I am pretty sure to cry ... since watching the losers cry on the field at the end of the game makes me cry too  :'(

What is good with rugby is that violence is on the field, so the spectators don't need to be violent as well : they let off steam through the players. Quite the opposite of soccer. It's just a personal theory but I do think it's not so stupid. Otherwise, why would people get interested in a sport where you have to pass the ball backwards to move forward ?  ;D  Just kiddin', I love rugby !

My brother played rugby in college.  I'd get crushed and don't enjoy pain that much.  It is fun to watch though.  I especially like the bumper sticker I saw on a car once that said, "Ruggers Eat Their Dead."

If re-incarnation exists then surely it doesn't matter what happens.

Modern ideas of reincarnation imply that your next incarnation is a transformation of the outcome of this life, so as to rectify some disturbances and develop unused and new aspects of ones character, and help the nearest people in ones life to do so - so maybe one of us Roomies will turn up as a seductive Womanatee babe to get Greenie movin'  ;D
