The latter one was recommended on an other forum with the words: 'recommended for the ones who love Queen, Muse and/or progressive rock'. Well, had to listen of course. Almost finished, not bad at all. Don't hear the connection with those bands immediately, but it will certainly be played again :).

Genesis - "We Can't Dance"

It's been such a long time since I last played this album. I still think it's a good one!
At this very moment Dreaming While You Sleep plays, and I like that song very much. Such a sad sad song.

Cap's really askin for mutiny here >:(

Hey, man, that's one'o my fave albums, just gotit last week, I'm rotating it with FF and Architects these days *horns*

Listen to the stellar music, Cap, ignore the growls if they bugya ;)

We live in times where the best music is interspersed with growl, shout, grunt, all sorts of stuff. The real prog dudes these days use all forms of expression at hand, depending on what they wanna communicate.

How did you run into this album, Cap, not your standard fare ???

Genesis - "We Can't Dance"

I can't listen to this stuff anymore. Gimme some real McGenesis up to Abacab. Man, those guys sold out for good, after Pete and Steve left, can't think of any other group that sold out like that :(

NP  Whatever they conjure up at the Malmö Festival Rock CafĂ©. Not too promising, but hopefully good enuff for a (expensive, this is Sweden, man) beer or two :)

Sorry, can't ignore. Using a voice along with music for me is still either talking or "singing", in the traditional way of it. Can't help it, other sounds to me always sound more or less daemonic, like puking or whatever bad thing comes to my mind, and it ruins the whole experience. I tried, seriously, but I can't. A good voice is of vital importance for me.

Music-wise it's great, though...

Erm, I must confess it was on the suggestion list when I watched Snowy Shaw - Alcoholocaust on jutupp.

Puking thru a whole album is quite a feat ;D

Seriously, I can follow you. More aesthetically oriented people will prefer melody and clean singing. I'm more dramatically oriented, I like music with a lotta ups and downs and surprises, and I'll adapt to stuff that initially is grating.

NP  Periphery III: Select Difficulty

My new discovery. Their latest, from 2016. Tremendous album, masses of exciting - and melodic - things goin in and out all the time, a guaranteed multirepeat *horns*

If I remember correctly, there isn't much growl, so you could try it, Cap, but I don't know how you are with very busy music ???

I got to know about Periphery some five years ago when they toured with (the real) DT in Europe. Because the planned concert hall burned down, both groups were transferred to a rather small sports hall with concrete walls. Particularly Periphery with their very busy music suffered from that and my impression of their music wasn't that good. But fortunately I decided to give'm another run at home, and they quicky became pantheon with me 8)

OK, it doesn't get any hotter. If you play this piece while having sex, you'll get quintuplets (at least):

Periphery:  Marigold   www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmtU2WJfPgU

And now a bonus track. It's slower, but has a real hefty rhythm: Rhys Fulber's remix of the classic Edgecrusher:

Fear Factory:  Edgecrusher   www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbwV-xjpy5E

Press:  7. Edgecrusher (Urban Assault Mix) 19:54

Yesterday I listened to Tomas Bodin's "I AM". Really like that album. And I finally have it in my collection since yesterday. Bought it for 10 euros. I know that he released the follow up "You Are" under the name 'Eggs & Dogs' in 2009, I think. Does anyone know if another sequel is in the making? And is "You Are" any good?
