Hi Clive,
I recently saw the National Geographic documentary on the Gospel of Judas, which portrays Judas as Jesus'best friend and the only one who really understood what his teachings were about.
Ever considered writing a follow-up track (I, Judas - part II) with a new perspective on the man? ;)
Seriously: is there any new material to be expected for Shadowland, or do we have to wait until "February". :D
Seriously though, you know the theories about Judas? I for one are not sure about that Gospel Of Judas.
About Shadowland, a follow up would be cool of course! ;D

I'm not really an expert on this subject and it would probably be better if i didn't reply on this matter but wasn't Judas the guy who betrayed Jesus and lead him to the cross? I know Pontios Pylatus judged him.(forgive me if i put it a bit harsh. :-\)
But this is off course really off topic. ;)
Great. A new Shadowland. *horns*
I see there are some Shadowland aficionados around here. Could one of you please describe their three albums for me? I wanna get one, and I'd like to maximise my chances for getting the right one for me.
Maddox, your spelling is otherworldly ;D
Nicky.
Start with the first.
You'll be wanting the other two.
(It's still on my wish list by the way, but there's so much good stuff coming out lately and I need more money now)
That was poco, Paco.
> ... and I need more money now.
See, that's the advantage of having divorced parents: You can fiddle much more moola out of'm.
Nicky.

Hi Nicky,
I think it's just the same with the Arena albums - no matter which one you get, you'll want the other ones soon! :)

I do believe Nicky will find this to be the case. Shadowland are fantastic and all the albums are worth having.
OK, thanks guys, I'll follow your proposal.
Are you aware that there is a new Swedish group also called Shadowland? Reason I found them was that I went on a Sh-hunt on MySpace. They've just put out their debut album, Falling. Sounds OK, but not great.
Nicky.
Hmmm... as long as it's a chance that more people listen to 'our' Shadowland as well, I guess that's OK. ;D
Nicky. I think Clive said Ring of Roses was the best one in his opinion. It is the only one i have and its excellent. I really hope they do some dates next year. London would be great but id happily go to Shefield again too!

Are you talking about Arena - or Shadowland??? If there was a Shadowland gig, I'd go pretty much ANYWHERE to see them! ;D
Shadowland gigs!!
Now that would be something to look forward to!! :)
QuoteShadowland gigs!!
Clive keeps telling me they are playing in February....
.... pity enough he never tells me of which year.
Personally I love all three of them. Mad as a Hatter (although it has some great songs on it, among them the great U.S.I.) I consider their least consistent effort (though still quite good and with a great sound). Ring of Roses has some catchy tunes on it (the title track being one of them) and through the looking glass has the most depth. I think that one is my personal favourite, I love the sort of melancholic mood on that one.
Thanks, Jan-Jaap, that's the sort of answer I was hoping for (and the sort that I try to give when I know something).
On your recom, I've noted Looking Glass on my shopping list, as I also tend toward the darker stuff.
Nicky.
OK, sorry for not being that much into detail when I said you'll want ALL Shadowland albums once you've heard them... :-[
(I still think that will be the case! :))
That's OK, Bluey, we love you anyway (Platonically, of course, except for Tom, maybe, hopefully .......).
Nicky.

I think it even features Clive on strings, which is a unique reason to buy the album as well. Another treat is the bonus 'and so the music stops', which is a beautiful tribute to the late Geoff Man, based on Geoff's last words.
Many people rate Roses a bit higher, maybe because it's a bit more accessible and diverse, but I really love some of Looking Glass's moody chord sequences.

Couldn't say that of myself... I actually couldn't say which of the Shadowland albums I like best - depends on the mood I'm in when listening, I think.

You probably mean Geoff Man
n, JJ.
Yes, what are Twelfth Night like? Worth getting an album by them?
Nicky.
QuoteYou probably mean Geoff Mann
Yes I do.... you know who I meant, weren't you?
I never owned anything of 12th night, so I couldn't say. I only know some of his work through the Mannerisms album, but I can't recall anything standing out really.
The Casino album is with Geoff Mann and it's quite good! (With Clive Nolan on keyboards and Karl Groom on guitar!)
Oh and I usually go for the more melancholic stuff, but I prefer Ring Of Roses to Through The Looking Glass still. I think it's indeed because of the variety in songs and the cathy-ness. Jigsaw is maybe one of the best Clive songs I've ever heard.
