Guys, check this: https://prog.teamrock.com/news/2014-12-04/john-mitchell-confirms-lonely-robot-debut
QuoteIt Bites, Arena and Frost* man John Mitchell has confirmed the launch of the first album from his Lonely Robot project.
Please Come Home will be released on February 23 via InsideOut, featuring bassist Nick Beggs and drummer Craig Blundell. Guest artists include Steve Hogarth, Jem Godfrey, Nik Kershaw, Heather Findlay, Kim Seviour and Peter Cox. The story is narrated by actor Lee Ingleby, of Master And Commander and Harry Potter fame.
Guitarist, vocalist and producer Mitchell reports: "I'd long thought about doing an album where I could have total control from start to finish with the music, lyrics, production, and choosing who I wanted to contribute – expanding from the idea of just a solo album.
"Please Come Home is very proggy, but it's more about atmosphere than technical expertise, inspired by my love of science fiction and interest in the evolution of the human race."
More information will be revealed in due course.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this!
A solo album by my favourite guitar player!

Expectation just went through the roof. ;D

Ah yes, it certainly went through the roof.
The musicians mentioned are not bad as well!
Another JM-quote from Twitter: "I've got a Lonely Robot trailer coming shortly. A TRAILER!! I've never had a trailer apart from a boat trailer :D It looks flipping ace too!!"
Did I already mention that I can't wait? ;D
Tom
Never mind my previous post, the trailer is here!

And there's also a bit of news. The release of the album will be followed by a European tour! *horns*
Tom
Not bad, not bad.
Actually... this is soooooo cool. I'll even say it's frosty! This 1:30 minute snippet reminds me of Frost* a lot. Which is totally not surprising and totally not a problem!

That sounds pretty awesome! :)
Me + happy = pre-order. :) :)
8), love it. I second PH's commentary: Frosty indeed and that's no disadvantage. That'll be an autobuy *horns*.

Yeah, I've heard it, sounding 8) indeed. A few weeks left, cant't wait!
I pre-ordered the album and finally it arrived. Can't wait to play it tonight.
Anyone already heard it? Yes (Teunis)? What do you think?
Tom
In the 'now playing' thread I wrote about this album after one listening: "It's a cross between Frost*, Arena and sometimes it reminds me of Blind Ego during 'Numb' album". Now I've played it about 5 times and it's still growing on me. Would rate it 8 out of 10 by now.

It's a very good album indeed. Personal favourites are changing every time I play it, which usually is a good sign. Right now they are Why Do We Stay?, Lonely Robot, Oubliette and Humans Being.
I feel I have to be careful not to
overplay it though.
What is everyone else thinking so far? Paco? Alex?
Tom
I don't have it yet. But I heard it's on progstreaming, so I'll check there.
Not now though, I'm at work... :(
My copy has gone missing in the post. But they will send one out this coming week. However I was lucky enough to go to the album launch party in London. John did 4 or 5 songs acoustically with just piano accompaniment. Can't remember the songs but one was with Heather Findley and the one with Kim (can't remember her name....sorry) It was great though and there was Prog royalty there. To name 3, Nick Beggs, Steve Hogarth (H from Marillion) and Steven Wilson. I was slightly starstruck even though I have seen these guys perform many times. Obviously H and Beggs are featured on Johns album but fab that they turned up in an Islington pub.. Nik Kershaw couldn't make it though. I had my photo taken with the astronaut!!! lol. Fab night and well chuffed I won a ticket. :D
Second Lonely Robot album nearly finished. Quote from John Mitchell:
"Now on to 2016 and there's loads going on. There's the next Lonely Robot album, The Big Dream, which is nearing completion."
You can't be serious! :o
Anything known about possible guest artists?
Craig Blundell on drums, like on the first album. That's the only one I know right now.
From the same Arena newsletter:
