Your latest cd or DVD purchase

Bupie

Risk (remastered) - Megadeth
Lacuna Coil - Comalies
Blind Guardian - Live

The obsession of free shipping (20 € on amazon.fr, and in this case 20,99 € for 4 cd's) sometimes pushes me to some risky moves  :-X

The consequence is that I have a few cd's to sell back now (a couple of Manowar in first place  :P). At least one of them should  bring me back a few euros since it's rather rare : Epica's  2 Meters Sessies CD/DVD. Is anyone interested ?  ;)

I guess this topic will do since we don't have a "Your latest CD or DVD non-purchase" category, and I don't feel like making one just now.  I've run into a vexing problem lately: some of the new music that I'd be interested in buying doesn't seem to be available in CD format anywhere I can find.   Amazon only has MP3 downloads for both Blind Ego and the newer Gazpacho albums.  I even went so far as to check the Amazon UK site, and the same was true there.  Also no luck among the independent sellers on Amazon Marketplace.  Does anyone know where these can be ordered (other than my local music shop in the Netherlands, which ain't so local for me  ;) )?

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Flustered American Sea Mammal

I assume you don't have a credit card, FASM?  ;)

If you do have you can buy their previous albums, also the astonishing Night, through Marillion's own record company called Racket records. --> Look over here.  ;)

I don't know about Tick Tock and Blind Ego yet.
I'll get back to you on this.

I do have a credit card, but I can't figure out what FASM means.  I found the following possibilities:

Acronym   Definition
FASM   Flat Assembler (computer)
FASM   Future Attack Submarine (UK Royal Navy)
FASM   Forward Air Support Munition (US Navy precision munition project)
FASM   Fuel-Assembly Structural Material
FASM   Faculty of Applied Science and Mathematics

I have some experience with choice 5, but somehow I doubt that's what you meant.

In any case, thanks for the info.   :)

Really?

What about this?

So the conclusion is: sometimes you should drink Guiness.

Sometimes you shouldn't;D  ;)

Ah, I'd forgotten about that.  FASM is me.  Maybe I'm a Future Attack Submarine too.  I could probably float to the European prog gigs then.   ;D

As to the Guinness, I have been sadly without it for days now.  Now that you mention it, maybe I'll go on a shopping run.  I seem to be more intelligent when I drink it.   ;)

I'm tempted to do the same, although I really would prefer having the CD with artwork, especially since my hard drive will probably crash 15 minutes after the download if I do that.   :(

I gave in to the above temptation and bought the dowload MP3 version of Gazpacho - Tick Tock.   Wow.  It is most excellent.   *horns*    I might just have to do the same with Night, especially since the download prices seem to be based on number of tracks, which makes it less than $5 since it's 5 (long) tracks.

Also, recently received in the mail: Opeth - Watershed (replacement choice from the cheapo CD club since they stopped carrying Deliverance).

I purchased the Complete Absolutely Fabulous DVD for £20. For the first time this year I bought a DVD from a shop.

I'll Google that later ;)

I'm allergic to shopping in person now.  If food and drink could be ordered via the internet, I'd never set foot outdoors.

Arrived today along with my argumentative RAM:  Weezer - Make Believe
This was the last (on back order) part of my cheap CD club order and is probably the last I'll ever get from them as they've wised up and decided to shut down that operation.  It completes my collection of Weezer studio albums.  Hooray for socially awkward geek rock stars.   *horns*

Our supermarkets do actually deliver if you order on the internet. It is tempting but I am told (by Mrs I) that going outside is good for me.

Those glimpses that I've had have all been scary.  I've concluded that loony is inevitable.  The goal is now to find a loony that's compatible with my kind of loony.   8)

Bowing to peer pressure: Gazpacho - Tick Tock
Bowing to "Ooh! It's only a £4.14 download" pressure: Karmakanic - Who's the Boss in the Factory?

Good point. Karmakanic is very tempting at that price.

it seems that Amazon have sorted out the glitch where it was more expensive to buy the download than have the Cd delivered.  ::)
