I started this topic on the Toto messageboard as well and it's quite popular.

Tell us what your latest cd or DVD purchase is. You can also add if you would recommend it to us, or that it is better to save the money in your pocket  ;).

My latest cd purchase is Stream of Passion - 'Embrace the Storm' and like I mentioned on the 'other bands' forum, I like it very much.

My latest DVD purchase is Electric Light Orchestra - 'Out of the Blue tour' (1978). Though the sound is not what we are used to nowadays, it's still a great DVD. 'Out of the blue' is my favorite ELO album and it's great to see the live performance of those beautiful tracks.
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'

Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

My latest purchase was 3 albums of Frank Klepacki: 'Morphscape', 'Rocktronic' and his latest 'Virtual Control'.
They rock your socks of.
(That's why I don't want to wear socks when I'm listening to rock. (That's why I want to wear my red-black bathroom mules* to Kino))

* Can someone confirm that this is the right translation of the things you wear on your feet when going to a swimming pool or beach or something?

Fish - Bouillabaisse

Having heard none of Fish's solo work - would you recommend this as a good starting point, what's his work like?

Si
Chaos is the Law of Nature
Order is the Dream of Man

QuoteHaving heard none of Fish's solo work - would you recommend this as a good starting point, what's his work like?

Shame on you! Personally I'd advise you to buy "Vigil in the Wilderness of Mirrors" and "Sunsets on Empire". Two real good studio-albums.

But you can always start with the best-off ofcourse.

My latest purchases: Stream of Passion - Embrace the Storm (CD/DVD) and IQ - Live in London (DVD)

HelenDo

To answer both my questions:

Applemoes - No I hven't heard Contagion before and I still haven't had time to listen to it (busy in Aylesbury at a Marillion concert)

Rocker666 - Re Bouilllebasse - I still need to listen to it more, but I would say there are some really good tracks on it. Especially on the 2nd disc, which has the rockier tracks.

Sorry to disapoint you JJ II, but I suspect this will be the only solo Fish CD I buy. I saw him at the Mean Fiddler in London last Saturday and I have to say it was an excellent gig.

I recently purchased 'the day after tomorrow'. Its a good film. The graphics are really good but the story behind it does need some work...
