I got a great birthday present for myself - as nobody irl would have been expected to figure ;) : Keep of Kalessin's Epistemology. I'd say "metal album of the year". It's possible that Kull's debut album and Dream Theater's coming album will equal it, but these two groups are expected to deliver, they're long-time top league - Kull being run by the Maudling Bros, just without Byron Roberts - and we can expect killer albums from them.

I also got Deicide's third album Once Upon The Cross, from my pupils in the Philosophy Lounge "From Hume to Kant to Hegel" - sure didn't expect that :o

I had seen Deicide live at Copenhell a couple of years ago - you guys may recall, I wrote that "They sure did make an effort to kill God, but He seems to have survived" - and I reckoned at the time that it wasn't something I'd follow up on, but since my Sagoth times, I've moved into some heavier metal ground, and some of the Sagoth fans had expressed interest in Deicide, so it was a welcome gift. After hearing it however, I have to confirm that Deicide is not my thingy :-\

Hey, thanks a lot guys ! Sorry for the late answer but I had not logged in so far this week. To be honest, turning half of a century has been quite confusing ... I spent a couple of bad days but now it's getting better. I also discovered that a surprise birthday party with French expats and possibly a few Australians too is on the way for this afternoon and that's pretty cool. Didn't think of the new Toto album as a present but I will definitively get it. The new Arena album will be a bit more complicated/expensive to bring here  :P

I am happy that you like the last Rob Reed's album, PH. I was disappointed by his Konpendium project and by the last Magenta album. Try Seven one day, you won't be disappointed I promise (but maybe you already did ?) !

Yes, the Kompendium project was hyped a lot before it came out. I remember the extremely over the top 'commercials'. They made it much too big, no wonder it was a  disappointment. I'm going to try again, especially since I like his Oldfield album.

And the newest member is still Paul59 who joined the 3rd of April 2013. That can't be right...
I was thinking the new album would generate more members and make this forum a bit more active... but... Last new member: April 2013? Seriously?

I'm still here, albeit in lurk-mode. I still pop in every once in a while to see if I have been missing out on something. Like you I hoped the new album would generate new members. But maybe that was too much to hope for since Arena themselves didn't promote The Unquiet Sky at all, apart from touring with it.
