Nicky, I don't wanna be rude or harsh, but I sincerely warn you of the dangers.

No need to worry, Paco. I'v been studying theosophy for twenty years, and I know what I'm doing  :)

Do you worry just as much about your Pop ?  ;)

Basically The Secret Doctrine is a massive compendium of religious thought thru the ages, so there's a lot to ruminate upon and discuss with fellow souls.

We have a great theosophical group here. People are friendly, open-minded, and eager to learn. I always enjoy and gain from being there.

Wow... can you give me a website or anything? (and no wikipedia this time!) ;D

Actually the wiki article is an excellent place to start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theosophy

If you want more, the internet is full of stuff about theosophy.

You can i.a. find the complete text of The Secret Doctrine, but I would say that it's a book that one should study together with fellows.

Nicky.
So you've come of age
And so you want to meet God
Sure you can
He's right here next to me

A bit like Bible study, but then not restricted to one religious book or thoughts?

I read somewhere that you are a member of the Danish Lutheran Church, do they organize Bible studies as well?
Or are they not open-minded enough. ;)

By the way, my back is doing sooo much better! :)
So I feel really good now!

Yeah, Paco, I fully respect people who seek God with prayer and psalms, period. However, I'm a different type: My mind is restless, always on the move, seeking new experiences and thoughts. I'm a Faustian soul - just like Khan's Ariel. It seems to me that that's what characterises a proggie.

The priests in the established Churches in Denmark havent yet realised that there's a wealth of wisdom to be found in the music of groups like Arena and Kamelot. Church people in general are very conservative.

But I think that there is a growing number of young seeking souls who want something more visceral in their religious quest. So therefore I think that prog and church will slowly approach each other, and just like with prog groups in the States, we'll soon be seeing Arena filling churches with seeking people. How do you like them apples guys ?  :D

Faust?

He sold his soul to the Devil in return for knowledge.
Not really my idea of obtaining true wisdom.

Nicky007

Your horizons are a bit restricted there, Paco  :)

I propose that you read Goethe's Faust, at some point in German - a tremendous work  *horns*

And listen to Kamelot's Epica and Black Halo all the while  *horns*
