Quote from: PHBefore "Himlabacken Vol. 2", this used to be my favourite album by Moon Safari. Still really good of course! But they even topped it with their latest!
Agreed, Vol. 2 is also my favourite 8).

Quote from: PHCan it be compared to anything else? I'm curious to hear your opinion on it.
Hard to say. I can't rembember that I thought while playing their music 'this reminds me of this band ... '. They have an own style, it's pretty happy music. But their albums are on Spotify ;).

Edit: here is the DPRP review: https://www.dprp.net/reviews/2023/006

I don't recognise what they mention as influences though, not so good at that :)

I am really enjoying Kristoffer Gildenlöw's latest album. It's tempting to compare it to Pain Of Salvation somehow. But honestly it's nothing like it. Sure, Kristoffer's voice is close to his brother's. But not as over the top, which can be considered a positive. I have listened to a few PoS albums (and I really like "In The Passing Light Of Day"), but I don't consider myself a diehard fan. Daniel's vocals are on the verge of irritation sometimes. Not with Kristoffer. Very pleasant singing voice. I have not heard any other solo albums by Kristoffer Gildenlöw yet, but if this new album sets the standard, the bar is set really high!
I hear quite some Pink Floyd influence. It also made me think of Ray Wilson sometimes and even bands like Anathema.

Now listening again, I think it's the fifth time now:

Quote from: PH on Fri, 2024-02-16, 17:44:22Sounds great! :)

It tried getting into Galahad, but I never succeeded. The first album I heard was "Empires Never Last". Which was intriguing, but never clicked with me. Nevertheless I have bought three albums: "Battle Scars", "Beyond The Realms Of Euphoria" and "Seas Of Change". I tried multiple times, but it never clicked. On paper it should work, but I don't know. What am I doing wrong? Should I be in a certain mindset? Is there something I need to focus on?

I admire your perseverance with Galahad, Paco! Tough one, if it just does not click with these four top titles it may just be not your cup of tea.. For me it started with seeing them live first, maybe that is a way in. I knew the name but had not heard any music, they were playing together with Clive Nolan (who was doing the first Caamora EP at the time) and I was blown away by their performance. Bought the older album Sleepers at the gig; Empires never last they played a lot from but was not yet released. They really hit their stride with that album and only got better. I love how they blend in dance/trance synth sounds in their neoprog, especially on Beyond the realms of euphoria.
