Ahhhh another Kino fan!! ;) ;)

But ehhh... No Marillion on your list??
(Be careful, there's a lot Marillion freaks here!)

How did you get into Arena then?

And indeed welcome of course.
It IS a friendly place, but there are some cracks in it.
Me for instance.

Hope you'll like it here!

I just got to listening to Timothy Pure and it's very nice music indeed!
The others too by the way. But I don't know Lana Lane though.
I agree with you on the new Porcupine Tree album, it's fabulous!

Nicky - Lana Lane is an American, she is very big in Japan and although she is often quoted as "The Queen of Symphonic Rock"  I regard her music as prog. Lots of mellotron, keyboard and guitar. She sings a wide range of stuff though, from soft ballads to quite heavy and has recorded a concept album based loosely on William Shakespeares' Lady MacBeth. Among her influences she lists Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Frank Sinatra (LOL). A lot of her songs are written by her husband, Erik Norlander - he plays the keyboard parts and is heavily influenced by the likes of Pink Floyd, Yes, ELP and King Crimson, which show through in many of the songs.  Norlander is also a solo artist in his own right and is a member of "The Rocket Scientists" who also have prog leanings.

Check out her "myspace" site in my earlier post.

Timothy Pure have only released two albums as far as I know, "Island of the Misfit Toys" and "Blood of the Berry" and they are not particularly easy to find.  However it is worth the effort because they are both excellent albums.

TP are obviously infuenced by Pink Floyd, with some of the guitar work sounding similar to Dave Gilmour's style. However they are not a clone of PF and have many original elements in thier music. In some parts they also remind me of IQ and Riverside. Blood of the Berry is the better of the two albums but as I said before (IMHO) they are both top-notch.

There was some talk of another album soon but as far as I know nothing has been released, I'm not sure if the band is still together.

I'm sure lots of Arena fans would enjoy !!!

Thanks for the tips, CD. Looks like I'll have to get Blood Of The Berry soon. Noted it on my shopping list.
