ok, so in these days of internet browsing, websites and forums, who still reads music magazines?
Do you still read proper old fashioned paper magazines?
so what are you reading on the train? in the loo? in bed with a cuppa tea?

Do you read Classic Rock mag? or NME, or Q???

where is our rock mag reading in the days of high speed connections? Are these types of publications still relevant?

c'mon, all you beano and reader's digest buffs out there, what is your favourite mag for keeping up to date with the prog world where you live?

Two Dutch magazines I read: iO-Pages (prog) and Aloha (rock). Sometimes I buy Classic Rock Magazine...

I don't read any rock magazines, only a german movie magazine, 'Cinema'. I used to read Spex when I could get a hand on it when I was 15-20 yrs old (yeah, 80s!) Nowadays I tend to browse reviews and forums...
Arriving somewhere, but not here....

I always read Classic Rock, SFX & Private Eye. Occasionally Record Collector & Uncut. I also swop with a mate at work who gets Q & Mojo. Used to get Wondrous Stories too.

Love a good read, don't have internet at home and wouldn't use it too much if I did  - paper works for me any time  ;D

From someone with 400 posts to their credit this stamement is actually rather funny ..... or do we assume you mean the internet gives you an alternative hobby while at work?   :)   (only joking.... honest!)

I read the London 'Evening Standard'
'Metro' - London's Underground transport paper,

I used to read Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, and Classic Rock.
...Is this just a dream I'm in?

That's exactly what I thought when I posted it  :D

Look at it this way... I'm so efficient at my job, I get lots of downtime  ;)

Sound On Sound (musical instrument / studio technology porn-type stuff)
F1 Racing (high speed porn)
Classic Rock Magazine (used-to-be prog-porn, but still a good read)
Classic Rock Society Magazine (whinging porn, but I support the concept)

I daren't fit the lap-top with a wireless card, otherwise the bathroom would never be vacant...LOL

In my miss spent youth I used to read Sounds on a regular basis.  I did give Classic Rock magazine a try for the first half dozen or so issues but found it started taking itself far too seriously and soon went back to reading proper children's comics instead!

Now I stick to getting my music news online.  Its quicker and cheaper, but sadly is no good at all for bathroom reading.

... strange sense of deja-vu floating in ...

Didn't I just reply to this on the Pendragon boards???

The music press has very little to impress me nowadays but that set in long before I got on the net.  I grew to loathe the cynical manner in which music journos write about bands, new and old, that horrid, condescending view that all fans are "kids" ie that they are easily influenced and fickle.  Not so!  Most real music fans support their beloved bands and artistes over a period of years, indeed in some cases, dedicating a major part of their lives to their love of music.

Sorry to bring down the tone of your thread, CA, but tis a major Xanxa dislike!!

Oooh yeah! Its worth noting that I read Sound On Sound as well!  I play a little game y'see, called 'Find the chocolate biscuits'.  This game can be found and enjoyed by all in the 'Studio SOS' section of the magazine.

The guys don't seem to like starting anything until they've had chocolate biscuits and coffee first! :D
