Title: Pure Reason Revolution
Post by: willowroolz on Wed, 2006-04-12, 09:39:03
Anybody else got their debut album The Dark Third? If not, and you like Porcupine Tree, Floyd, Yes etc, you should definitely check it out. Wonderful melodic prog  ;D

Haven't heard anything (yet) of them. Heard from several people that it is very nice.
And if you mention PT and Floyd as comparison than you are making it very easy for me.  ;D

MAD.

Repetitive more like - how many times do they repeat "bright ambassadors of morning"? I lost count at 16!! Once was good enough for Floyd... :-)

They need a bit of ummpphh!!

I like it, anyways. It's a good CD to chill to, with some ummmph from time to time :)

One short section of one long song does not a bad album make  ;)

Got this album and Christmas on the back of hearing 'Willows" on myspace, and I have to say it\'s still my favourite track, but I'm getting into the rest of the album slowly but surely.

That's unexpected! They were doing so well! I for one didn't like the direction they were going that much (I loved their first album), but I don't begrudge their success. And they seemed to be getting more and more successful.

A pity.

Yes very sad. In a way probably the most progressive band around at the moment as all of their cd's are so different.

I got tickets to a farewell gig in London and apparently they are playing the dark third in it's entirety.

....drumroll.... and here we go again, this is what gives me hope for "the future":
Pure Reason Revolution are going to be back with a new studio album out in in April, called "Eupnea".

Here's a taste:

Track is called "Silent Genesis", 10 minute piece, gives me goosebumps. So happy and thrilled!

Hmmm! Interesting!
I wonder what it will be like. "The Dark Third" was a really nice album. The other albums didn't really do it for me, but I might have to give it another shot, since naturally my preferences have also shifted.

Yeah, i read it.
I really like the first album but their second one was so different than the first.
Made me sell the copy i had.
I never do that.
Fortunately I bought it a few years later for a bargain price and slowly I appreciated the album more and more.
I'm curious about the new album.
