I've heard it about 7 times by now and it's certainly growing on me. It has songs I don't like that much, but overall a good album. Have fun at the Morsefest gigs *horns*.

Broers & Klazinga - Burdens of The Mind
Ghost Of The Machine - Scissorgames
Neal Morse - The Dreamer - Joseph, Pt. 1
Einar Solberg - 16
David Paich - Forgotten Toys

Kayak - The Best Of Kayak
Mystery - Rememption

Quote from: Teunis on Sun, 2023-08-13, 19:36:24I didn't expect it to be as great as the Neal Morse Band albums, but I expected more from it.

I think it's fair to compare it to the "Jesus Christ: The Exorcist" album, as it has somewhat the same players on it. There's no Mike Portnoy and instead Eric Gillette is drumming on some of the tracks (the 'proggier' drums I guess), while Gabe Klein is doing drums on other tracks. Gabe Klein is the one who's drumming on albums like "Songs From November" and "To God Be The Glory". Not bad per se, but more of a worship or pop drummer. Also I have a bit of a problem with the singing of Matt Smith. He's obviously a great singer, but I get a feeling that he's overdoing it. "Let's throw him in the piiiiiiiit!!". :D
Also, it's as if Neal doesn't really know where to go with this one: a progressive rock album, a musical, a standard rock album...
Still, I listened quite a lot to it since it's release. Gotta prepare for the concert next friday and saturday. I bet he'll play a few from this album.

Today I listened to the first three A.C.T albums.
"Today's Report", "Imaginary Friends" and (the great) "Last Epic".
These albums always bring a smile to my face. I never tire of it.

I did. Bought it on Friday, but was able to listen to it only once this morning. I didn't expect it to be as great as the Neal Morse Band albums, but I expected more from it. But it isn't fair to judge after one listening, the melodies and words will fall into pieces later, I'm sure. There's no NM album I don't like ;). To be continued ...

Now listening to Prog Non Stop, completely Ayreon/Arjen Lucassen/Anthony this time. And The Druids Turns to stone 8). (Our) Damian Wilson rules *horns*

Lately I'm listening a lot to all my liked songs on Spotify. Which is actually great, because I never know what will come up next. It's a bit like a radio station, but much much much much much much better.

But today, I listened four times in a row to the new Neal Morse album: "The Dreamer (Joseph: Part 1)".
Beforehand I thought it would be a bit like "Jesus Christ: The Exorcist", a musical. Well, it's a bit like that, but also a bit like "Sola Gratia". It has guest vocalists, but it's less of a mucical than JC:TE was.

I like the new album. It's not his best, but I wasn't expecting that. We have to look for Neal Morse Band albums for that now. But it's decent! I think I like it better than JC:TE.

Just one complaint....

A single disc?!?!?! With a planned sequel? Why not wait and bring them out together as a double disc, like JC:TE?

Anyway, anyone else who listened to it?
