Friday = vendredi
To dream = songer (if I remember correctly)
So would that make something like 'Vendredi's songe'? Probably not hehe. Yeah, my French is far from très bien!
;D

Actually, it's not bad at all ;) and if you want to translate
Friday's Dream in French, you get
Le rêve du vendredi or
Le songe du vendrediSince French langage is much more elaborated than English ;D and includes way more words, dream means
rêve as well as
songe but in French those two words have slightly different meanings :
un rêve implies that you are asleep or that your mind is completely away from the place where you stand ; on the opposite,
un songe means that you are awake and mentally present but yet thinking about something else than people around do. Hard to explain clearly the difference with my poor English, though :-[
BTW, what's the original title for the Shakespeare's act that we call
Le songe d'une nuit d'été in French ?
I will put 'Moviedrome' at the first place. Without doubt, it is the outstanding epic. I love the tempo's repetitive and of course the duration. Duration for me is such a big matter ;)
In the second place, 'The butterfly Man' also without any dangerous threat from the other.
And then there are several songs that have a very tight competition.
Chosen, Waiting For The Flood, and Friday's Dream.
Because i am better to be 'metal fans' than 'softer fans' so i throw Waiting for the flood and Friday's Dream (though i'm sure that both songs are really sweet).
So I choose 'Chosen' as the last podium's song.
Hanin, what you just said could have been written by me! :D

The difference seems to be more subtle than you express here, Bupsie: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=460372
Else, in English you have all the subtle shades: Dream, daydream, trance, reverie, fantasy, fancy, chimera, image, etc. If you want more, then lookie hereie: http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/dream

Je persiste et signe. After a quick search, I APOLOGIZE since it seems that English language has way more words than French http://www.guichetdusavoir.org/ipb/index.php?s=dca8a8bcfd0169d962a8a5f84b5684b5&showtopic=9699 :P
So it took me 43 years (and a big half :'() to get rid of the
idée reçue that we have the most diverse language of the western world. Still, I think our grammar is more complex than the English one but maybe Nicky will be pleased to contradict me on this point too ;)

French grammar is by far worse than English grammar. The biggest problem with English is the number of words we have that are all spelled the same but sound different and the number of words we have that are spelled differently but sound the same
1 Moviedrome is my favourite Arena song ever and i was blown away when they played it on the last tour.
2 The Butterfly Man
3 Fridays Dream

If you lot have worries about the French or the English Grammar then take a look at the German Grammar.
That's pure hell. :-\

Maybe not twice as many, but certainly more. That's cause the English people for centuries have been more cosmopolitan than the French.
Otoh it seems to me that French words in general have more diverse meanings, their meanings depending on the context (and in movies on the great French emoooootion) ;D

Well, for a Frenchie, that's pretty fast. Most Frenchies think they have the best of everything in the world. Some real wacko Frenchies even think that they have the best rock in the world :'(

I think you're right on that one, Bups.
That's cause the French are so afraid of offending. So they pack everything in convolutions so that there's always an escape.
You notice that in French movies. E.g. the guy says somethin to the gal. She then wants to know whether he meant this or that. After she asks, he wants to know whether she's attracted to him or not. This goes on for two hours, and at the end, he either screws her (literally), if they arrive at mutual attraction, or kills her, if they end up hating each other.
In American movies, the hero screws and kills his head off during the first ten minutes, and then spends the next two hours running away from it all, pursued by cops, mafia gunslingers, husbands, ufos, whatever.
You know, different nations, different characters ;D

The other difference is that in French movies, you actually see the screwing (if the word has the meaning I think it has considering your wicked mind) when in the American movies you just see a kiss then there is a cut and you see both people waking up the next morning, of course under a top sheet. So we have our part of action in movies too ;D

I am sure I could rebuild some
(not to say tons) of yours on French people too but that would take me a lot of dedication ... ;D

Yeah, the French have a screw loose, so that the best that can happen in a French movie is that the screws are
screwed tight, so that the characters acquire some sense of normality ;D
Nicky.
1. Friday's Dream
2. Moviedrome
3. The Butterfly Man
Friday's Dream on 1st? :o
Interesting!
That pushes Moviedrome to the third place! 8)

The epic Moviedrome the most favourite song of "Immortal?"? No way! It's equal to the 'radio friendly' Friday's Dream! ;) ;) ;)
And Tom errr... I mean, The Butterfly Man came first!
1. The Butterfly Man
2. Moviedrome
2. Friday's Dream
3. Chosen
3. Waiting For The Flood
3. Ghost In The Firewall
4. Climbing The Net
And Climbing The Net climbed all the way down the net....
Anyway, only two songs can represent "Immortal?"...... We shall battle it out in a seperate poll.
Oh Paco, it would be a great disaster if Moviedrome beaten by Friday's dream.
Immortal's heart are Moviedrome, similar to Harvest of Soul for IQ's Dark Matter.

I won't let that happen, Hanin! I'm corrupt enough. ;D
But seriously, if you haven't already, make sure you're heard in the battle!
