What is Styx doing on there??

And (I'm sorry to say that) I hate Focus' Hocus Pocus...

It's a compilation of Symphonic Rock tracks, not prog. Styx are without any shadow of a doubt, a fine example of a symphonic rock band.  ;D

Apology accepted  ;)

I thought Symphonic Rock was a part of Progressive Rock? ???
But Styx... I have my doubts.

Just listen to the brilliant track Suite Madame Blue;D
We stare at our screens
All our lives
What a waste of eyes..

Congratulations  :D , you've successfully spotted one of the biggest problems with a band being labelled "Prog"  ;D (ie, no-one really knows what it means.!!)

Look within this forum for example and you'll hear mention of (and please forgive the labelling  :-[ )  :

Old Prog : Genesis, Yes, Floyd, ELP
Neo Prog : IQ, Arena, Pendragon
Synth Prog : Tangerine Dream, Eloy, The Enid
Modern Prog : Radiohead, Mars Volta, Elbow, Mew
Metal Prog : Threshold, Dream Theater, Shadow Gallery

then you get bands like Caravan, Hawkwind, Uriah Heep  etc who used to be called Prog at the time but aren't now

It's all very complicated, you'd be hard pressed to find 2 bands more different than Dream Theatre and Tangerine Dream yet they've both appeared under the prog tag. Wierd isn't it  :)

Personally, I just listen to "music which appeals"  ;D  ;D

That's the best way! :)  That's how I do it, and I think that's how it should be done!

That's agreed then. Let's get it rubber stamped before anyone challenges it  ;D

I look on progarchives.com every now an then.

Oh and Dream Theater is spelled with Theater and not Theatre ;)
