NP  Sieges Even:  Paramount

So now I'v listened to it five times in a row, and I'm really impressed. This is one mf of an album  *horns* *horns* *horns*

Each of these four guys is awesome, and together they're simply over the top.

What a treat!

The Fourth Reich is one of great music !!!

Ten:  Through The Fire  (on Essential)   *horns*

Fire, you bet! A real caustic one.

This song redefines what singing is !!!

And the guitar is right up there too !

Guys, I'm back! ;D So what have I missed the last couple of weeks? 8)

NP: Evans Blue - A Cross And A Girl Named Blessed

Really awesome band. They remind me somewhat of Tool and A Perfect Circle but I think you guys have to listen and decide for yourself if you like it or not...Anyway, here's a link to their MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/evansblue

Cheers, Tom
There will be white clouds beyond the hills...

NP  Genesis:  Foxtrot

To my taste, this one is more interesting than enjoyable. If it hadn't been that Genesis became such a great band later on, I would never have gotten Foxtrot.

In my mind, the first real enjoyable album is Selling England, which is sooo much better than Foxtrot, and then it gets better and better up to Duke and Abacab.

Anybody here like the first three Genesis albums? - if so, what and why?

Mainly a lot of good beer, a bunch of birthdays, some interesting stuff in the Room - and some silly stuff - but isnt that the way we Roomies are?  ;)

What were you so busy with, Tom?

Sounds real good, Tom. I'm sure gonna try'm out. I'm a big fan of Tool and APC. And I know that you're never out with bullshit stuff.

I think Foxtrot has one of the best Genesis songs on it: Supper's Ready!! And the beautiful acoustic guitar piece: Horizons (my dad used to play it on his guitar very often (even before I ever knew it was a Genesis song)). Watcher of the skies is also very good I think.

I agree that Selling England By The Pound is much better than Foxtrot. But I think the earlier albums are very enjoyable too.

Yes, I do!
From Genesis To Revelation (did you count that one too, Nicky?) is very simple and not really a good album, also because of production. But some songs are very nice and the guys (in their teens back then!!) showed very well how professional they were, or at least how professional they would become! In The Wilderness is very beautiful! The piano parts are very good. Of course it's more (60's) pop than prog but who cares...
Trespass is very good. It has some GREAT songs on it! Visions Of Angels for instance: WOW!!! Tears in my eyes when I listen to that one. But each song on this album has something nice.
Nursery Cryme: The Musical Box!! People, how can someone not like this?? This is also a brilliant piece of music! Harold The Barrel is very funny and secretly still very cool. Good album!
And then of course Foxtrot, which I already told about.

NP  Genesis:  Wind & Wuthering

Now we're talkin business guys. This is one heck of an album. Real melodic and atmospheric. And Phil has become a fantastic singer, beside being a tremendous drummer  *horns*

And it's a real album. After all the banging around in "... In That Quiet Earth", Afterglow really transports you to higher spheres mmmmmmmm.

I must say, now that I'v gone deeper in Genesis, I'm now willing to place them in the top league together with Beatles, Floyd, Zep, and DT. There sure is a lot of Genius there  :) :) :)

NP   Wuthering Heights:  The Shadow Cabinet

A fusion of power metal and folk music. Quite special. A Danish-Swedish band. Great singer. As good as it gets within power metal (although PM isnt really my thing, more for youths).

I think you've posted a link to their website somewhere in another thread... the name sounds familiar... and if I'm not totally mistaken, they're indeed not too bad.  :)
