Yup, The second time that MorseFest is held in Europe, and also my second time. It was not as expensive as last year (probably because Mike Portnoy won't be there), but still a lot of money...
Cool, I was also interested, till I saw the ticket price. As I come from far, I also have to book a hotel. Sorry, but way too much for me ::).

Quote from: PHI am also still thinking whether or not I will go to Haken in Utrecht next Wednesday... But I have no gig-buddy and I don't really like to go to concerts on my own.
I don't mind going alone when it's not to far away, because I don't like driving in the dark. Zwolle is excellent for me, about 15 kilometres. As I also work there, I can almost do it with my eyes closed ;).

Looking forward to these gigs *horns*.

np: Seventh Wonder - Mercy Falls

16 years old today, one of my favourites by them, the other one is 'The Great Escape'.

Such a terrific album.
I really don't mind the electronics in his music.

I really need to try it again. The album was hyped a lot last year and many people said it was much better than "The Future Bites", but to me it sounded much alike.
But the 1 year anniversary for "The Harmony Codex" is coming up, so I might as well listen again and try to enjoy it for what it is.

Since last week I have been listening to these albums:

Yes - "Tales From Topographic Oceans"
Yes - "90125"
Two very different albums and I love both of them for different reasons. "90125" might be one of the catchiest albums they've made. And "Tales..." is one of their most difficult albums. But I think the first two tracks (which is half of the album) is pretty good stuff!

Haken - "Virus"
I think I like "Vector" a bit more, but this album is also fantastic! I wish I knew what the whole story is about.

Pure Reason Revolution - "Coming Up To Consciousness"
Pretty nice stuff. I was much into "The Dark Third" back when it was released in 2006/2007 and I was disappointed with the following two albums. Then they went into hiatus. After their return I was not really interested so I missed their fourth and fifth album completely. This is now already their sixth album (their third after their hiatus) and now I am intrigued. Anyone here who is a fan of the band and (all) their output? What are their fourth and fifth albums like?

David Gilmour - "Luck And Strange"
Wow! Not bad at all! David Gilmour said this is the best he has done after "The Dark Side Of The Moon". I don't agree, because I think "Wish You Were Here", "Animals" and "The Wall" are all much and much better than this, but still... this might be his best solo album. At least better than "On An Island" and "Rattle That Lock". I am not that well known with his earlier solo albums.

The Flower Kings - "Look At You Now"
Still a pretty album after a year. What? It's been a year already? Where is the new Flower Kings album then? :D

Sieges Even - "Paramount"
I was late to the party, because I discovered Sieges Even after Subsignal, but this album is really good.

That's great to hear! I have to admit that I haven't tried it again after my initial listening. Now that I know that you played it 6 times in a row, makes me eager to listen again.

Today I was listening to:

Jon Anderson & The Band Geeks - "True"
Well, yes (ha!), interesting for sure. But not earth shakingly good. It has the same 'problem' as the Stolt/Anderson release a few years back: too much Anderson. Sacrilege, I know. In Yes it never occured much to me, but in this release and the Stolt/Anderson release it stands out to me: he sings a lot of nonsense and he sings a lot.

MEER - "Wheels Within Wheels"
Actually pretty good! I really liked their previous album "Playing House". This one seems to be a bit more proggy, or at least more 'busy'. Whether that's a good thing, I have to find out.

About Leprous - Melodies Of Atonement
Quote from: Teunis on Sat, 2024-08-31, 19:47:53I'm playing it for the first time right now and so far I get the same feeling. But I've read it's a grower. So there's hope ;). I also find 'Aphelion' less interesting, quite boring.
Played it about 6 times by now and it's really growing on me. It'll be al right in the end, I'm sure! I find it far better than 'Aphelion'.

And also played my other purchase 'Kingcrow - Hopium'. Top-3 material for my yearlist, I'm sure!
