i did better I had Clam Chowder in New England.

Yup, that's where to go for it.    *horns*
There's a Manhattan style too with a tomato base instead of milk/cream, but I like the New England style best.

Conversely When I went to LA I thought if this is America they can keep it.

But having visited San Fran and Boston/Maine I like America

It's a big place. Our various regions can't even agree on what to call things.   A carbonated soft drink is called: a soda, a pop, a tonic, or a coke (even if it's not Coke or even a cola) depending on where you are, and I probably missed a few.   I like SF and Boston too as cities go, and Maine is great (except in winter).  I don't think I've ever actually been to LA except for the airport.  Wander around here long enough, and you'll find plenty to like and plenty to dislike.  Naturally the thrill of the variety is lost on me since I've been here my whole life.   ;)

I am quite lucky I have moved around a bit. Liverpool, Canterbury and North, South and West London. If I had the choice though I would probably move to Cheshire between where Steve and Funkster live.

I've actually moved around quite a bit myself, but, with a couple of exceptions, it's generally been places near New York.  Lived in Cali for 2 years, but that was when I was 2 to 4 years old, so about all I remember is a playground.

Just finished off a particularly nice Chicken Madras.  Given that I had a bit of an 'upset tummy' yesterday (to put it mildly) this probably wasn't a wise choice.  Expect to see our road sealed off by the authorities tomorrow morning, with men in biohazard suits lugging Special Equipment around ;)
