Mystery, Anglägard or Echolyn but I am afraid the battle is not over yet  :D

Give in to the fever!

All three of them are stunning albums to say the least.  *horns*

Just ordered :

Mystery - The World Is A Game
IQ - Tales From The Lush Attic (2013 Remix CD/DVD)
IZZ - The Darkened Room
Neal Morse - Sola Scriptura

The first, I had been thinking of for quite a while.
The second was the main motivation to place the order.
With the third I don't know what to expect but I am confident.
The fourth will be my first introduction to Neal Morse's solo career, as surprising as it may sound.

Warning : this is not a riddle so don't look for a word  :D

And of course, I will get the always welcome Free Classic Rock Society Sampler (volume 6 this time).

I'm thinking about that one too. Anyone who recommends this wholeheartedly?

Yes, that sounds really good indeed.

You probably know that you should be ashamed of yourself. So I won't have to tell you that. ;)

Hahaha

I have recently purchased the following:
Squackett - "A Life Within A Day"
This is not as prog as one would have hoped it to be. But still this is really nice music. Very catchy.

Frank Klepacki - "Infiltrator"
Frank Klepacki - "Viratia"
Frank Klepacki - "Conquering 20 Years"
Nice "Command & Conquer"-ish music. Not prog in a million years. But I like it. ;)

I've also ordered:
Spock's Beard - "Brief Nocturnes And Dreamless Sleep"
Preordered this one. I am very curious. I really liked Nick's voice. Don't know Ted that well.

Marillion - "Marbles On The Road"
The 2 dvd version through 'Marktplaats'.

And... it seems I've won Rick Wakeman's rerecorded "Journey To The Centre of The Earth" in a competition on DPRP.
;D

Just pre-ordered the Neal Morse 2DVD/3cd box 'Live Momentum', within a quarter after it was possible. Hope to be among the first 200, who will receive a signed one. It was very busy over there (Radiant Records), keeping my fingers crossed ;).

I just bought Anoraknophobia and Marbles by Marillion which Im loving. Also the Lifesigns album. Its great to hear some quality prog by John Young and co. I would totally recommend it.
And of course I have received Genasis Revisited II. Full of excellent musicians and memorable songs.

"Marbles On The Road" is in. 8)

Also, I couldn't resist and bought Big Big Train's "English Electric, Part One" and DeeExpus' "The King Of Number 33".
I am very excited about it.
Still waiting for Rick Wakeman's 2012 rendition of "Journey To The Centre of The Earth".

Iggy

Lots of Procol Harum including A Salty Dog and Live with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

I bought the first two seasons of Sherlock. I really liked this series and I'm looking forward to the third season!

Bought the Neal Morse album 'One' at my local record shop. Overall a great album, only one song I don't like called 'Author Of Confusion'. And I ordered two albums over there: Riverside - S.O.N.G.S. and Antimatter - Fear Of A Unique Identity. Already heard them and they're so great that I had to buy them ::).

Teunis, "One" is a really good album! Do you have the special edition? It has some nice extra songs and a few covers (which are also on the "Cover To Cover" cd). I can see why you don't like Author Of Confusion. It has to be his most 'metal' song and was very unusual for him at that time. Yet I remember seeing the pretty heavy "Sola Scriptura" in your top ten list of 2007, am I right?

I also purchased a lot of new (and old) albums lately:
Riverside - "Shrine Of New Generation Slaves"
Steven Wilson - "The Raven That Refused To Sing (And Other Stories)"
The Tangent - "Music That Died Alone"
The Tangent - "A Place On The Shelf"
and finally(!!!)
The Urbane - "Glitter" !!!!
I'm so glad I finally found this album. Already knew all the songs, but couldn't get my hands on a physical copy. So hard to find!

Nope, just the 'normal' album, which is already 70+ minutes of music :).

Really dig 'Sola Scriptura' indeed. It's not just the 'metalish' parts, also the 'more voice singing', which is a bit working on my nerves. But after hearing the live version on the live Momentum DVD I do like it already more.

Ordered Alchemy - The Musical by a guy called 'Clive Nolan' and Mystery - The World Is A Game.

Greetings, Friends.

The Green One has returned.  I didn't really mean to be absent in the first place.

Recent purchases are:

Riverside - Shrine of New Generation Slaves (2 CD)
Echolyn - Echolyn
Porcupine Tree - Octane Twisted
Big Big Train - English Electric Part One

I'm looking forward to reading back posts to see what else I should be trying.
"What is that sound?  It's confusing, and boy is it loud!"

Have you tried Elementary which is an American take on Sherlock Holmes? It is very well done and highly recommended.

I think you got a lunar tick, (that's why you're) Mad  :o

Phew, do I remember them days, back in '73  :)

I was 18 then, even younger than the callow Paxi. Rock was sooo new and exciting. Whenever Floyd, or Zep, or Who, came out with a new album, man, we were all so excited  *horns*

I first heard Dark Side as the bootleg live album Tour 73. My bro had recorded it on one of'm big tapes that one used in those days. We'd sit in his cellar room and listen to it, in deeep reverence often with a good chillum.

All of us in those days would listen eagerly to Radio Luxembourg and other rock channels, visit each other and listen to records and tapes. Rock was so exciting and authentic.

Man, have times changed  ::)

For people like us Roomies, rock is equally exciting and authentic ... but just think how few we are today  :(

And the media pour out volumes of slime ... and people actually lap it up  :'(

"You will obey me while I lead you
And eat the garbage that I feed you
Until the day that we don't need you
Don't got for help...no one will heed you
Your mind is totally controlled
It has been stuffed into my mold
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold

That's right, folks..
Don't touch that dial

Well, I am the slime from your video
Oozin along on your livinroom floor

I am the slime from your video
Cant stop the slime, people, lookit me go."

Just ordered Steven Wilson's Raven ... I am not the biggest fan of the guy but this album seems unavoidable and you can easily get it for a cheap price too

Re-ordered Landmarq's Entertaining Angels since those Angels never arrived home the first time : it was in the winter's core so I presume that they chose to fly a bit more South ...

Me neither, don't know what all the fuss is about :-\. Heard the title track which I found really boring and a track called 'Luminol'. Really not my cup of tea. But okay, tastes seem to differ fortunately ;).

Just ordered the Arena live DVD 'Rapture', which will probably arrive next Friday. Woohoo, me happy *horns* *horns*.

Once upon a time there were many great composers.

Bach, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Wagner...

They all perished, like in time many of us do.

Nowadays we still have great composers, and whether you like it or not, Steven Wilson is among them.  :P
