As it was my birthday on the 16th, i received Amazon vouchers so i bought Concerto Maximo by Pendragon which is 2 and a half hours of music in 2 cds plus a 3 hour dvd. I also bought The legacy edition of Jeff Buckley's Grace which is 2 cds and The Incident by PT. Unfortunately i now have to buy a new cd player cos mine is  sick and my pc for some reason doesnt like to play my proggy stuff!! :(

Should have put your DOB in your profile then we could all have wished you a happy birthday.

Anyway late as it is Happy Birthday.

I had a problem with my PC playing DVD's and music and it turns out that some applications ruin the registry settings so it may well be worth googling the issue to see if anyone else has had the same problems.

If this one is on the same level as The Tokyo Tapes, I'll be very pleased indeed.   *horns*

A wholly different kettle of fish, but completely and utterly excellent nonetheless. *horns*

Hmm, I was just thwarted in my attempt to buy the Amazon dowload of Knight Area's 2nd album (the only one DLable at all, apparently) -- turns out that even in the full album download, they don't include the longest (~13 minutes) track.  That's no good.   >:(    Will have to pony up for a CD and wait instead.

Downloaded instead:

Abigial's Ghost - d_letion

First song rocks admirably.  Second song sounds more like regular modern rock than any of their other songs I've heard.  Not sure I approve, although there is some nice guitar coming in now.   Hopefully the remaining tracks will be more in line with the first one.

I went ahead and ordered Transatlantic's Whirlwind. Heard a couple of Neal's demo sections from Whirlwind on his September Inner Circle CD. Sounded decent.

I bought Heroes Season 3 and the new album of Alice In Chains called Black Gives Way To Blue. Obviously no Layne but a cracker nonetheless!!!  *horns*

Since it happens to be the fact that you also like a band called Arena, i bet you'll like this one as well.  8)

Hmm, I like it, but it doesn't remind me much of Arena.  Maybe a little bit like Lion's Cage, but not that close IMO.

I was more referring to the fact that it's both neo-prog.  ;)

It does have some tiny resemblances if you ask me but you're right, it's a tad different than Arena.

Subsignal ~ Beautiful and Monstrous

The new band of former Sieges Even members Arno Menders and Markus Steffen.
First spin: Pretty nice indeed. Not like Sieges Even, less Rush-ish.

Today a cd arrived with just three songs on it.
Three rather long songs. In fact, the shortest song is about 11 minutes and 28 seconds long.

It's a killer album!

It's....

Darwin's Radio ~ Template For A Generation

I think the band's name should ring a bell.  ;)

Does, but only a feeble bell. Tell us a bit more about the album, Mad  ;)

This shouldn't be that hard.  ;)

It's the Declan Burke's band, the singer who also appeared, eh make that sang on the second album of Frost*, Experiments In Mass Appeal.

This is his own band and they've just released this beauty. It's not really long, just about 44 minutes and there are three tracks upon it.
Highly recommended.

Yep, yep, I heard about it here first.

It was on my "pick this up eventually" list, and I found it for a price that, as Steve would say, it would've been rude not to buy it.   ;D

So it's rude to ensure that the band members get some dividends  :P

I suppose that's one way of looking at it, although any legal sale has got to be better for the band than someone pirating it.  In some cases, it may be that volume dealers simply are content to make less per unit and sell a lot more units, in which case it shouldn't hurt the band at all on a per CD basis (and should help in total).  If I was hugely wealthy, I'd gladly sponsor all my favorite bands, let alone pay top price for the albums, but sadly, such is far from the case.
