Appelmoes??

Are you aware that Heather Findlay and Fish have just become engaged?
And are you aware they just broke up? Fish posted that on his site I believe.

Knew about the engagement.  Think there may be a wedding in August.  And a Fish junior on the way?  I believe that Fish is playing at The Boardwalk in Sept/Oct.  Should be interesting as Odin Dragonfly are supporting (HF + Angela from MA).
Agree with comments on Heather's vocals.  She looks kinda fragile but she has a strong voice.  Strangely enough, I like Bryan's vocals intermingled with Heather's.  The sound works very well.

Other names to go in the hat?  Rachel Jones (ex Karnataka, now The Reasoning), Steve Taylor (Strangefish)

Well, Heather said that there was something fishy about him  ;)

Does anyone know what Fish is up to musically?

Does anyone know why he really left Marillion? That was nothing less than a catastrophe (in my and the captain's opinion).

Besides grieving about his lost love he's working on his new album 13th Star.  ;)

Nicky.

If i recall correctly it was musical differences. That's a broad term, i know. If it wasn't it surely had something to do with his love for some drinks.  :P  ;D

You're right, but you're wrong! ;)

He's engaged to Heather on February 14th.
They made up again and now they're happy.

Yes, and they broke up again last week.

Well, a fish on heather is maybe also a difficult proposition.

I think when I reach the 2000, I'll wanna be a sïcko. How's that for madness?

It seems people missed the joke earlier. Truth is that Michael Moore (you know the one that loves Bushy Boy) just made a film about healthcare in the States, called, guess what?

The stories I've read were basically about the band having spent too much time together. The MC album, world tour, CaS album, world tour, sitting on each others' laps for almost 3 years gave them the head shot. If they would have taken it slowlier -if given the chance by the label- they might have survived it. Why all of this had to culminate in Fish leaving and the rest staying together is a mystery. In my opinion it's most probably because Fish surely is a diva...

Well, he seems to have been the genius in the group, in any case judging from the difference between Fish-era and post-Fish Marillion music.

I don't know these singers at all. That of course doesn't mean that they're not great, but it does mean that I'd like one more recom before I add them to the great list.

Peter, I thought ACK stood for: Arena is Considered to be a Knockout.

imo she sounds too powerful for prog music.

Floor Jansen is Goth Metal.
I sometimes find it hard to believe that those Goth Metal bands are considered prog... I mean, ok it's alternative Metal, but that doesn't make it prog, right?

We need a new definitian! ;D :D

Nicky007

Wikipedia has an excellent all-round article about prog:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_rock

Note that groups like Dream Theater, Tool, and Opeth are considered "prog" acc. to WP, more precisely "prog metal".

No, After Forever is Goth Metal, we're talking about the singers now. Floor has been on Ayreon (which is still slightly prog imo) but as a background singer. She also was on Star One, but that was (symphonic) space metal.

To me prog is music that takes influences from other kinds of music and cultures, but remains rock. And rock is music that's based upon guitar, drum and bass.
