Hi everybody!
I want to wish you all a happy new year (in advance)! ;D

I was wondering what will be the first album you'll be listening in the new year!
For me, I'll pop in Frost's Milliontown as soon as it's 0:00, Januari 1st 2007.

Second:
What are we waiting for? Which releases in the coming year are you very excited about?

And which events?

I'm really excited about:
- Blackfield's second album
- Caamora's She
- Neal Morse's Sola Scriptura
- Porcupine Tree's new album
- Ayreon's new album
- Blind Ego's Mirror
- Something from It Bites
- Hopefully something from Kino
- Hopefully something from Arena (and Arena-related)

Furthermore I really look forward to the rereleases of A.C.T's albums, I'm gonna buy them all! ;D

Ayreon added indeed! *horns*

Oh, and what were your discoveries this year (2006), the best albums, best bands, best events etc. etc. etc.

For me the best discoveries were:
Frost
Kaipa
Ray Wilson (and related)

Best albums/DVDs:
Milliontown (Frost)
Smoke And Mirrors (Arena)
SCORE (Dream Theater)
Arriving Somewhre... (Porcupine Tree)
Silence (A.C.T)

Best events:
Ray Wilson (Gerolstein/Lissingen, Germany)
Frost (Helmond, Netherlands)

Actually all in no particular order... Except for Frost being on the top of the lists (except for the events, which were in no particular order either)

I might add something more to my list: Gazpacho's new album called 'Night'.

I've heard that this could well be their best effort so far.  *horns*
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

1. I don't remember what the first album I listened to this year was. Guess it might have been something by Arena, though. :o
I have a hard time deciding on an album of the year 2006, but I think it stands between Diablo Swing Orchestra - The butcher's ballroom and A.C.T - Silence.
Best gig of 2006 was definitely Porcupine Tree on SRF, and also Kamelot, Evergrey, Queensrÿche, Cloudscape, Celtic Frost and lots of bands on SRF really rocked!
I'd love to see Arena on Sweden Rock Festival! ::)

2. First of all, there have already been a few really good albums this year, including Pain of Salvation - Scarsick, Threshold - Dead reckoning, Sylvan - Presets and Neal Morse - Sola scriptura.
I'm looking forward to new albums by Porcupine Tree, Ayreon (even talked to Arjen 'bout that one, and I think it'll be awesome!), Evergrey (I hope it's good this time), Marillion, IQ, Rush, Symphony X, Dream Theater, Andromeda (DVD), Edenbridge (compilation) and, of course, Arena, if possible.

maddox

Yeah, Andromeda DVD. Heard about that one too. Looking forward to it too.  *horns*

II=I was brilliant but Chimera was just awesome.  8)
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Silhouette

II=I is still my favourite by them, though I must admit I haven't had time to listen a lot to Chimera yet.

By the way, I'm sure these guys are not human, they're too good.
Will be really cool to see how they do live, since they're albums are some of the most impressive performances I've ever heard.

The new album by Magic Pie is brilliant! :o
I love it right away! It sounds a lot like Spock's Beard or Neal Morse sometimes.
These guys are pros.

So a new Ayreon album when????
I hope it's not another stream of passion one but a real Ayreon album I'm looking forward to it...
Walk along the Waterfall, watching as the world turns red
Wonder where the river flows, and the blood on the River bed
Poison lies to close to us, Reach across the salt and Sand
Moving Deeper into the Land
