I don't know that mantra, there, to be serious for a second. Is that really true, ever?
I love two of their albums, I hate two of their albums, and I'm indifferent to the rest, leaning towards liking or not liking what I hear on a song by song or even moment by moment basis.
I think you can kinda like'em, or kinda think they're not very much to speak of.
But to make allowances, I understand the spirit of the saying, the point it tries to make: It's not mainstream, and it takes a bit of effort to listen to - something that seems to either end up very rewarding or very annoying.
